On May 16th, a delegation from the People's Councils of Bokeo, Phongsaly, and Oudomxay provinces (Lao People's Democratic Republic) visited several exemplary economic models in the agricultural sector in Son La province.

The delegation from the People's Councils of the provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic visited the specialty coffee production and processing factory of Bich Thao Coffee Cooperative, Hua La commune, Son La city; the cattle farming model combined with earthworm farming at Son La Agricultural Cooperative, Chieng Mung commune; and the mango cultivation model of Mr. Nguyen Ba Tuan's family, Na Cang village, Hat Lot commune, Mai Son district.

At these model farms, representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, along with cooperatives and households, introduced the technical production process, the economic benefits of the models; plans and solutions for agricultural product output; shared experiences in developing models, and assessed the soil and climate conditions suitable for each type of crop and livestock.

Delegates visited a model of organic mango cultivation in Hat Lot commune, Mai Son district.
Leaders of the provinces of neighboring Laos highly appreciated Son La's approach to agricultural development, especially in expanding the area of fruit trees. They also expressed their desire for Son La province to continue exchanging and sharing practical experiences in implementing models; and to support and transfer scientific and technological advancements, livestock breeds, and plant varieties so that localities in Laos can apply them to their production practices.
