On May 17th, a delegation from Xaysomboun province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, led by Mr. Tong Mua-Xua Co, Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Deputy Governor, visited Son La province to participate in tourism promotion activities and to announce the Decision of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognizing Moc Chau as a National Tourist Area. The delegation was welcomed by leaders from the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La province.

In an atmosphere of special solidarity and friendship, on behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of provincial departments and agencies warmly welcomed the delegation from Xaysomboun province to visit and work in Son La. They also provided information on the time, program, and location of activities at the ceremony announcing the Decision recognizing Moc Chau as a National Tourist Area. The Xaysomboun delegation thanked Son La province for the warm welcome and hoped to gain valuable experiences and insights into tourism development from Son La province.

The series of events announcing the recognition of Moc Chau as a National Tourist Area will take place from May 17-19 with many activities, such as: a Fam tour program to survey, evaluate, and develop themed tours; a fruit-picking festival; a tourism promotion seminar with the theme "Orientation for the development of a green and sustainable Moc Chau National Tourist Area"; paragliding; a mountain bike race; an exhibition of cultural spaces, introduction of tourism products, OCOP products, and ethnic cuisine; cultural activities, folk games, and experiences…
