On April 22, 2024, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed Decision No. 1077/QD-BVHTTDL on the recognition of Moc Chau National Tourist Area, Son La province. Being recognized as a National Tourist Area will create an important driving force for Son La province in general, and Moc Chau and Van Ho districts in particular, to continue to strive to develop tourism here, affirming its position on the world tourism map, worthy of being a national tourist area.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Ms. Trang Thi Xuan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: In order for Moc Chau National Tourist Area to increasingly develop to the level of a national tourist area, affirming its position on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world, Son La province will continue to focus resources on investing in infrastructure, technical facilities, and tourism services; perfecting and improving the achieved criteria of the national tourist area; promoting digital transformation, developing smart tourism applications; strengthening promotional activities, promoting and developing the tourism brand "The world's leading regional natural destination". Developing Moc Chau National Tourist Area is in line with Vietnam's tourism development strategy, becoming one of the leading tourist areas in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region and becoming one of the key national tourist areas of the whole country.

The program had the participation of nearly 450 artists and actors from the Provincial Music and Dance Theater; students of Son La College and actors, mass art cores of Moc Chau district and Son La city.
