Yen Chau is one of the localities with large fruit tree areas in the province, with over 11.500 hectares. The fruits have strong regional characteristics and are known and favored by tourists inside and outside the province. Among them, there is a famous round mango product with a characteristic fragrant, sweet and rich flavor, which was granted a Certificate of Geographical Indication Registration and Brand Identification System by the Intellectual Property Office of Viet Nam; Mango with green skin is delicious and fresh for a long time; granted 24 growing area codes for export. Currently, the whole district has over 3.280 hectares of mangoes, with an output of about 15.000 tons of fruit/year.

The Mango Festival has been organized annually by Yen Chau district since 2017. This year, the district continues to choose Kha village, Sap Vat commune as the venue for the main activities of the festival. This is a village with great potential and advantages for developing community tourism, with dozens of hectares of ancient round mango trees hundreds of years old and located in the geographical indication area. In particular, the village still retains the traditional stilt houses and preserves the unique cultural features of the Thai ethnic group, such as the Dong Sua Festival, folk singing, performing traditional musical instruments, maintaining traditional crafts, etc.
The festival takes place to promote and advertise the Yen Chau round mango brand and honor mango growers; contribute to introducing the land and people of Yen Chau to a large number of friends and tourists inside and outside the province, creating a premise to promote rural tourism in Kha village and Yen Chau district tourism to develop, commensurate with the potential and advantages of the district.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong requested Yen Chau district to continue to develop sustainable mango growing areas, especially preserving and conserving round mango varieties associated with tourism development; organize production in specialized, safe areas, according to the value chain; promote trade promotion activities; contribute to promoting the image, national cultural identity and value of Yen Chau mango products to consumers and export to international markets.
