Comrade Lu Van Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Chau district, delivered the opening speech at the 5th Yen Chau Mango Festival, 2024.
The Mango Festival has been held annually in Yen Chau district since 2017. This year, the district continues to choose Kha village in Sapp Vat commune as the main venue for the festival's activities. This village has great potential and advantages for developing community tourism, with dozens of hectares of ancient, round-fruited mango trees hundreds of years old and located within a geographical indication area. In particular, the village still retains traditional stilt houses and preserves the unique cultural features of the Thai ethnic group, such as the Dong Sua Festival, folk singing, performances of traditional musical instruments, and the maintenance of traditional crafts.
The festival aims to promote and publicize the brand of Yen Chau round mangoes and honor mango growers; contributing to introducing the land and people of Yen Chau to a wide audience of friends and tourists inside and outside the province, serving as a foundation to promote rural tourism in Kha village and the development of tourism in Yen Chau district, commensurate with the potential and advantages of the district.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, delivered a speech at the festival.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong requested Yen Chau district to continue developing mango cultivation sustainably, especially preserving and conserving the round mango variety in conjunction with tourism development; organizing production in specialized, safe farming areas along the value chain; promoting trade activities; contributing to promoting the image, cultural identity, and value of Yen Chau mangoes to consumers and for export to international markets.
