On June 19th, Son La College held a working session with a delegation from the Udomxay Provincial Vocational Technical College and the Northern Laos College of Agriculture and Forestry (Lao People's Democratic Republic) regarding the recruitment and training of Lao students and a cooperation program for transferring advanced technologies and effective agricultural models in Son La.

From 2001 to the present, Son La College has taught Vietnamese and trained human resources for 9 provinces in Laos, including students from Luang Prabang and Oudomxay provinces. The school has conducted 22 preparatory Vietnamese language training courses for international students and 13 Vietnamese language refresher courses for officials from the 9 provinces of Laos, with a total of 3,625 international students.
In the 2023-2024 academic year, the school has 269 Lao students, including 33 from Luang Prabang province and 29 from Oudomxay province. Most of the students who took Vietnamese preparatory courses before majoring received a Vietnamese proficiency certificate level 4 or higher, demonstrating their ability to read, write, listen, and speak Vietnamese to meet the requirements of their future work in their home country.
For Lao students, those trained at the intermediate and college levels are all qualified to graduate, possessing solid professional skills and good Vietnamese language proficiency. The school continues to pay attention to and implement various rich and diverse forms of management and support for Lao students.

Currently, Son La College, Udomxay Provincial Vocational College, and Northern Laos College of Agriculture and Forestry are implementing technology transfer activities for two models: "Organic cultivation of Ha Den grapes in greenhouses" and "Cultivation and care of Ngoc Chien glutinous rice," providing seedlings and some necessary supplies. They are also providing 150 kg of biological products and a process for producing these products.

In 2024-2025, the participating schools will continue to coordinate effectively in recruiting Lao students. They will exchange information on similar programs and professions for mutual reference and implementation. Training programs, electronic lectures, and digital learning materials will be transferred for use as reference materials by the participating schools. Scientific seminars will be organized to exchange experiences in management and training organization, including a seminar on "Digital Transformation, Green Transformation." Cooperation in technology and techniques transfer in agriculture will also be pursued.
