Over two days (August 12-13), a delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence, led by Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Minister of National Defence, and a delegation from the Lao People's Democratic Republic's Ministry of National Defence, led by Lieutenant General Vongkham Phommakon, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Deputy Minister of National Defence, surveyed and inspected preparations for the 2nd Vietnam-Laos Border Defence Friendship Exchange in Moc Chau district, Son La province, and Sop Bau district, Hua Phan province. Participating in the delegation from our province was Ms. Trang Thi Xuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Also participating in the survey were leaders from the General Staff; leaders from the Border Guard Command; leaders from the Son La Provincial People's Committee; and the 2nd Military Region Command.
The Deputy Ministers of Defence of both countries, along with their respective delegations, surveyed and inspected the preparations at the locations planned for activities within the framework of the 2nd Vietnam-Laos Border Defence Friendship Exchange.
General Hoang Xuan Chien and General Vongkham Phommakon highly appreciated the active and proactive preparations made by the relevant agencies and units of the Ministries of National Defense of the two countries for the 2nd Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange. They also thanked the close coordination and cooperation of the departments, agencies, and localities of Son La province and Hua Phan province.

General Hoang Xuan Chien, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Minister of National Defense, and his delegation inspected the progress of the construction site of the friendship project donated by the Ministry of National Defense to the locality.
The two Deputy Ministers suggested that the relevant agencies and units of the Ministries of National Defense of the two countries, based on their assigned tasks, continue to uphold their sense of responsibility and coordinate closely with each other, as well as with the departments, agencies, and localities of Son La and Hua Phan provinces, to ensure that preparations are on schedule and of high quality, contributing to ensuring that the 2nd Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange achieves practical results.
The 2nd Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange is an international activity, demonstrating the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos. It also highlights the sense of responsibility of the border protection forces of both countries, aiming for close and effective coordination in protecting the border and boundary markers, combating crime, helping people alleviate poverty, and building a peaceful, friendly, stable, cooperative, and mutually developing Vietnam-Laos border.
The Deputy Ministers of Defence of both countries inspected the area around Border Marker 255.
