During 2 days (August 12-13), the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense delegation, led by Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, and the Lao Ministry of National Defense delegation, led by Senior Lieutenant General Vong-kham Phom-ma-con, member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, surveyed and inspected the preparations for the 2nd Vietnam - Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange in Moc Chau district, Son La province and Sop Bau district, Hua Phan province. Joining the delegation of our province was comrade Trang Thi Xuan, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Also participating in the survey were leaders of the General Staff; leaders of the Border Guard Command; leaders of the People's Committee of Son La province, and the Command of Military Region 2.
The Deputy Ministers of Defense of the two countries and the two working delegations surveyed and inspected preparations at the locations where activities are expected to be held within the framework of the 2nd Vietnam - Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien and Senior Lieutenant General Vong-kham Phom-ma-con highly appreciated the relevant agencies and units of the two countries' Ministries of National Defense for actively and proactively implementing preparations for the 2nd Vietnam - Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange. At the same time, they thanked the departments, branches, sectors and localities of Son La and Hua Phan provinces for their close coordination and cooperation.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, and the working delegation inspected the construction progress of the friendship project site donated by the Ministry of National Defense to the locality.
The two Deputy Ministers suggested that relevant agencies and units of the two countries' Ministries of National Defense, based on their assigned tasks, continue to promote a sense of responsibility, closely coordinate with each other as well as with departments, branches, sectors and localities of Son La and Hua Phan provinces so that preparations are on schedule and of high quality, contributing to ensuring the 2nd Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange achieves practical results.
The second Vietnam-Laos border defense friendship exchange is an international activity, demonstrating the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos. At the same time, it promotes the sense of responsibility of the border protection forces of the two countries, aiming to closely and effectively coordinate in protecting the border and landmarks, fighting against crimes, helping people to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, building a peaceful, friendly, stable, cooperative and mutually developing Vietnam-Laos border.
