Step by step promote agricultural development

After 3 years of implementing Resolution No. 06-NQ/TU dated January 21, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on the development of agricultural processing industry in Son La province in the period of 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030, Son La province has achieved many outstanding results. The value of industrial production and agricultural processing in the period of 2021 - 2023 increased by an average of 8.45%. Attracting investment in 11 large-scale agricultural processing projects, of which 7 projects were granted new investment policies, 4 projects are proposing to approve investment policies, exceeding the target set by the Resolution.

Support, encourage and facilitate existing industrial establishments to upgrade, expand their scale, innovate technology, machinery and equipment according to the set target of over 50% being upgraded and expanded. The value of agricultural and processed products participating in exports during this period increased by an average of 18.5% per year, in 2023 alone, the value of agricultural products participating in exports reached over 159 million USD, an increase of 6.42% compared to 2022...

Implementing Resolution 08-NQ/TU dated January 21, 2023 of the Provincial Party Committee on concentrated, sustainable development of agriculture, forestry and fishery, applying high technology to 2025, with a vision to 2030, the structure of the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector in the total economic structure of the province in 2023 will reach 24.5%; the average GRDP growth of the whole sector in the period of 2021 - 2023 will reach 5.1%, 0.1% higher than the Resolution target; the average production value per hectare of cultivated land in the period of 2021 - 2023 will increase by 10.44%, achieving the Resolution target...

Agricultural and rural infrastructure continues to receive investment attention through new rural development projects and programs. New policies have been issued to encourage enterprises, cooperatives, and households to invest in agricultural and forestry production. To date, the province has granted investment policies and investment registration certificates to 16 projects in the fields of agriculture and agricultural product processing industry, with a total registered capital of over VND5,085 billion.

Discussing agricultural development solutions

At the Conference, delegates focused on discussing and proposing a number of solutions to solve difficulties and obstacles in attracting investors in the field of high-tech agriculture and industrial parks and clusters in the province; supporting agricultural product processing facilities to ensure concentrated, stable and long-term raw material areas linked to domestic and foreign markets; applying science and technology to agricultural production at agricultural product processing facilities; and State management of environmental protection and water resources during production activities.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, assigned the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, district and city Party Committees to continue to strengthen and enhance responsibility in effectively implementing and being determined to complete the goals of agricultural, forestry and fishery development by 2025 according to Resolution No. 15-NQ/DH dated September 24, 2020 of the 15th Congress of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025.

Continue to enhance the role and responsibility of leaders in directing and implementing synchronous solutions, with the highest determination to successfully implement the goals set out in Resolutions 06 and 08; assign the Provincial People's Committee to direct the development of a draft Project to build Son La into a Northwest agricultural processing center for early submission to the Provincial Party Standing Committee for promulgation.

Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh also emphasized that departments, branches, districts and cities should closely follow the locality to proactively respond to and overcome flood damage; review and count the damage, promptly support people and deploy urgent construction works, helping people in disaster-affected areas to soon stabilize their lives.
