Step-by-step promotion of agricultural development

After three years of implementing Resolution No. 06-NQ/TU dated January 21, 2021, of the Provincial Party Committee on the development of agricultural processing industry in Son La province for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030, Son La province has achieved many outstanding results. The value of industrial production and agricultural processing increased by an average of 8.45% during the period 2021-2023. The province attracted investment in 11 large-scale agricultural processing projects, including 7 projects that received new investment approval and 4 projects currently under consideration for investment approval, exceeding the targets set in the Resolution.

Support, encourage, and facilitate the upgrading, expansion, and technological innovation of existing industrial facilities, including machinery and equipment, in line with the target of over 50% being upgraded or expanded. The value of agricultural and processed products participating in exports during this period increased by an average of 18.5% per year, with the value of agricultural products participating in exports reaching over 159 million USD in 2023 alone, an increase of 6.42% compared to 2022…

Implementing Resolution 08-NQ/TU dated January 21, 2023, of the Provincial Party Committee on the development of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in a concentrated, sustainable manner, applying high technology until 2025, with orientation to 2030, the structure of the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector in the province's overall economic structure in 2023 reached 24.5%; the average GRDP growth of the entire sector in the 2021-2023 period reached 5.1%, higher than the Resolution's target by 0.1%; the average production value per hectare of cultivated land in the 2021-2023 period increased by 10.44%, achieving the Resolution's target…

Agricultural and rural infrastructure continues to receive investment through new rural development projects and programs. New policies have been issued to encourage businesses, cooperatives, and households to invest in agricultural and forestry production. To date, the province has granted investment approval and investment registration certificates for 16 projects in the agricultural and agricultural processing industries, with a total registered capital of over 5,085 billion VND.

Discussing solutions for agricultural development.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and proposing solutions to address difficulties and obstacles in attracting investors in high-tech agriculture and industrial zones and clusters in the province; supporting agricultural processing facilities to ensure concentrated and stable raw material areas linked to domestic and international markets; applying science and technology to agricultural production at agricultural product processing facilities; and state management of environmental protection and water resources during production activities.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, instructed the Party Committees of the Provincial People's Committee, district and city Party Committees to continue strengthening and enhancing responsibility in effectively implementing and resolutely achieving the goals for agricultural, forestry and fisheries development by 2025 according to Resolution No. 15-NQ/DH dated September 24, 2020 of the 15th Congress of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025.

Continue to enhance the role and responsibility of leaders in directing and implementing solutions synchronously, with the highest determination to successfully achieve the goals set forth in Resolutions 06 and 08; assign the Provincial People's Committee to direct the drafting of the Project on building Son La into a Northwest agricultural product processing center for early submission to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee for promulgation.

Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh also emphasized that departments, agencies, districts, and cities should closely monitor their areas, proactively respond to and overcome the damage caused by floods and heavy rains; review and compile statistics on the damage, promptly support the people, and implement the construction of urgent projects to help people in disaster-stricken areas stabilize their lives as soon as possible.
