The New Rice Festival is held annually in Ngoc Chien commune.
The official ceremony to worship the deities will take place on August 29th at the communal house of Muong Chien village, followed by a buffalo sacrifice ceremony on August 30th. In addition, there will be cultural, artistic, sporting, and traditional folk game activities, such as: Traditional costume contest, sticky rice making, stone stacking, buffalo prince contest. Competitions will be held in various sports and folk games, including: Stilt walking, "to yen" (Mông people's badminton), men's and women's pomelo football; "ngu kin khiet" (snake eating frog), sura kin mu (tiger eating pig), climbing ladder; and display of traditional food trays...
Buffaloes are being cared for to participate in the "Buffalo Prince" competition at the harvest festival.
The People's Committee of Ngoc Chien commune has developed a specific plan and program, meticulously preparing the necessary facilities for the festival, ensuring safety, joy, healthiness, and cost-effectiveness; contributing to the preservation and promotion of the traditional cultural values and beauty of the people of Ngoc Chien commune.
