From August 28th to September 4th, Moc Chau district, Son La province, will host a cultural and tourism week themed "Moc Chau – The Call of the Season of Love" with many attractive activities.
This is the second year that Moc Chau district, Son La province, has hosted the provincial-level Cultural and Tourism Week activities. Previously, Moc Chau annually organized Independence Day celebrations on a district-wide scale.
Many attractive cultural and tourism activities will take place in Moc Chau on September 2nd.
Mr. Le Trong Binh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Moc Chau District (Son La Province), said that the Moc Chau Culture and Tourism Week 2024 is organized to promote and introduce to businesses and tourists both domestically and internationally the potential and advantages of Moc Chau; to promote and advertise "Moc Chau - a leading natural destination in the world"; to build and develop the distinctive brand of Moc Chau tourism; to attract capable investors to develop tourism services; and to build Moc Chau into a leading tourist area in the Northwest region, an attractive tourist destination for domestic and international visitors.
The festival also aims to celebrate the strength of national unity among the ethnic groups of Son La province in general and Moc Chau district in particular; to strengthen national unity and consolidate faith in the country's renewal process chosen by the Party, the State, and the people.
"The Mong ethnic cultural space" - features performances of folk songs, folk dances, and folk music by artisans and performers from villages and sub-districts in communes and towns with large Mong populations.
Regarding the activities that will take place on this occasion, Mr. Le Trong Binh said: "Firstly, there will be an art program on the night of September 1st with the theme 'Enchanting Night of Dating'. Secondly, there will be activities related to the fair to connect and sell agricultural products in the area. Thirdly, there will be street community activities, highlighting the cultural features of the ethnic groups in the area. Fourthly, there will be a competition showcasing national-level intangible cultural heritage. Fifthly, there will be a special event related to the history of Independence Day, which is the Mong ethnic cultural space. This is also a unique opportunity for Moc Chau to promote its potential and advantages to attract investors to Moc Chau, Son La, and the Northwest region."
