At the meeting commemorating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union, held this morning, August 8th, the Son La Provincial Federation of Labor Unions honored 95 outstanding trade union officials and members; and awarded commemorative medals to 37 individuals for their contributions to the development of the trade union.
Over more than 60 years of construction and development, the Son La Trade Union organization now has over 50,000 members, operating in 1,260 grassroots trade unions. Thanks to the dynamism, responsiveness, and adaptability of the trade union officials, trade union activities at all levels in the province have made significant strides, especially in fulfilling their role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.

Commemorative medals were awarded to 37 individuals for their contributions to trade union development.
Each year, 5,000-7,000 union members and workers facing difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses, or lacking housing receive attention and support from trade unions at all levels; 3,000-4,000 useful projects, initiatives, and solutions are approved and applied in practice, professional tasks, and production... These results have contributed to the successful achievement of the province's socio-economic development and national defense and security goals; and have gradually enhanced the role and position of trade union organizations in the new situation.

Ms. Thai Thi Mai, Permanent Vice President of the Son La Provincial Labor Union, stated: "In the coming years, the Son La Provincial Labor Union will continue to effectively fulfill its functions and roles in caring for, representing, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members and workers. Secondly, it will continue to launch emulation movements among its members and workers throughout the province to promote their abilities, capabilities, and especially their creativity in improving models, working conditions, and other aspects to help agencies, units, and businesses develop further."
