On the afternoon of August 3rd, the Thuan Chau District Party Committee and the Hua Muong District Party Committee held a meeting to share experiences. Attending the meeting was the Thuan Chau District delegation led by Comrade Nguyen Dac Luc, Provincial Party Committee member and District Party Secretary; also present were Comrade Quang Van Dung, Deputy District Party Secretary and Chairman of the District People's Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the District People's Council and People's Committee; and members of the District Party Committee's Standing Committee.

 

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, representatives from Thuan Chau district and Hua Muong district shared information on the results of implementing socio-economic development tasks and ensuring national defense and security in the first six months of 2023; and experiences in leadership, direction, and implementation of resolutions of the Party Congress at all levels in both districts.

Over the years, Thuan Chau district has regularly coordinated with Hua Muong district to strengthen the special friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation in various fields; and to promote and implement the Minutes of the Meeting between Thuan Chau district and Hua Muong district.

From 2021 to the present, Thuan Chau district has coordinated with Hua Muong district to survey and support mango cultivation models, support the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, and support the Covid-19 prevention and control work for Hua Muong district, with a total value of 650 million VND.

In addition, the two districts have directed agencies, units, communes, and towns to strengthen propaganda and mobilize the people to preserve and cultivate friendly relations; and to combat the distorted narratives of hostile forces that oppose the two Parties and States and sow discord in the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

During the meeting, the Secretary of the District Party Committee, Nguyen Dac Luc, expressed his pleasure and welcomed the delegation from Hua Muong district to visit and work with the district. He congratulated Hua Muong district on the socio-economic development achievements it has made in recent times. The Secretary of the District Party Committee affirmed that this visit is an opportunity for the two districts to further strengthen solidarity, friendship, exchange knowledge, cooperate, and develop together.

On behalf of Hua Muong district, Comrade Vieng Phon Kham Vong Sa emphasized: The meeting and exchange helped the Hua Muong District Party Committee gain more experience in implementing the resolutions of the Party Congress at all levels and was an opportunity for specialized agencies of the two districts to meet, exchange, and share experiences in implementing tasks and cooperation results in various fields.

At the conference, the two districts signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for the period 2023-2025, agreeing on the following cooperation contents: Both sides will continue to coordinate in disseminating information to officials, soldiers, and people of all ethnic groups on each side about the tradition of special friendship and solidarity, and the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos; between Son La and Hua Phan provinces in general, and Thuan Chau and Hua Muong districts in particular. They will regularly maintain a system of information exchange, cooperate in resolving arising issues, and send congratulatory letters on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year and National Day of both countries. Both districts hope that after this working visit, the special friendship and solidarity between Thuan Chau and Hua Muong districts will continue to be strengthened and expanded, contributing to nurturing the special Vietnam-Laos relationship to remain ever-lasting, sustainable, and mutually developing. Coordinate and facilitate visits by delegations from the cultural, sports, information, and tourism sectors of both districts to exchange experiences in state management. Facilitate access to information, production, and supply of plant, animal, and aquatic products to Hua Muong district by businesses in Thuan Chau district, Son La province; establish cooperative production and business partnerships with businesses in Hua Muong district. Strengthen coordination, information exchange, and effective and practical dissemination and education on the traditional friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos through various forms.

The visit and working trip of the delegation from Hua Muong district to Thuan Chau district yielded very positive results, creating an important impetus to promote the cooperative relationship between the two districts to become increasingly in-depth, effective, stable, and sustainable.
