Teams competing in leather volleyball at the 2024 Thuan Chau Highland Communes Sports Tournament.
The program will include the Thuan Chau District Highland Communes Expanded Sports Tournament with 3 competitive events: men's leather volleyball, men's and women's individual crossbow shooting, and men's Tu Lu game; as well as sports activities and folk games such as tug-of-war, pao throwing, stick pushing, ball throwing, sack racing, blindfolded object smashing… for ethnic minorities and tourists to participate in and socialize.
The Organizing Committee will recreate an excerpt from the "Sacred Tree" ritual (Tri Tong Senh) of the Mong ethnic group in Co Ma commune, Thuan Chau district. This is a long-standing ritual that has been maintained and promoted to this day to pray for favorable weather, abundant harvests, thriving livestock, and to work together to protect forests and water resources; to share and help each other develop the economy, alleviate poverty; preserve ethnic cultural identity; maintain and promote the essence of ethnic cuisine; to properly implement the Party's guidelines, the State's laws, and the village's customs and regulations; and to fulfill the rights and obligations of citizens...
Additionally, there will be the "Co Ma Highland Market 2024" with 40 stalls; including 30 general trade stalls from businesses, cooperatives, and individual traders; 6 stalls displaying agricultural products and specialties from 6 highland communes; 2 stalls displaying OCOP products and characteristic agricultural products of Thuan Chau district; 1 stall displaying images of the district's socio-economic development achievements; and 1 stall showcasing the Mong ethnic cultural space...
Within the framework of the Cultural Week, the following activities also took place: a competition for picking hawthorn fruit (wild apple), fruit carving and display of characteristic products of the highland communes; a competition for pounding sticky rice cakes; a competition for presenting and introducing ethnic cuisine; organizing tourism activities, visiting scenic spots and experiencing cultural tourism in the highland communes of the district; a space for displaying beautiful photos to introduce Thuan Chau district to a wide range of tourists…

BTC presented commemorative flags to the teams competing in the leather volleyball event at the 2024 Thuan Chau Highland Communes Expanded Sports Tournament.
Mr. Dinh Manh Hung, Vice Chairman of Thuan Chau District People's Committee and Deputy Head of the Cultural Week Organizing Committee, said that the activity aims to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of ethnic groups in the area; and at the same time, build and develop the culture and people of Thuan Chau to meet the requirements of sustainable development of the country. This is also a practical activity to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and National Day (September 2); and to introduce and promote the district's products, agricultural products, cuisine, OCOP products, culture, and tourism associated with building new rural areas. Through this, it encourages the spirit of the people, creates unity, and promotes cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges among ethnic groups in the district.
