(Mai Son) On August 6, 2023, at Phieng Pan Border Guard Station, Mr. Vu Tien Dinh - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the District People's Committee - chaired a meeting to review border affairs; socio-economic development in the first seven months of the year and tasks for the last five months of 2023.

The Phiêng Pằn Border Guard Post is responsible for managing and protecting over 6,800 km of border and 4 border markers adjacent to Na Toong commune, Xieng Kho district, Hua Phan province, Lao People's Democratic Republic. In the first 7 months of 2023, the Phiêng Pằn Border Guard Post proactively advised the local Party committee and government on disseminating information and mobilizing the people to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws. They conducted 3 bilateral patrols, 10 unilateral patrols, and 14 area control patrols, promptly detecting, preventing, and resolving cases of encroachment on the border and border markers.
In coordination with Phiêng Pằn commune and the Department of Justice of Mai Sơn district, 22 sessions were held to disseminate information on the National Border Law; the Vietnam Border Guard Law; the Law on Drug Prevention and Control; the Law on Prevention and Control of Human Trafficking, etc., reaching over 1,700 listeners. In collaboration with the commune's departments, agencies, and mass organizations, efforts were made to strengthen the political system at the grassroots level, linking it with national defense and security tasks; mobilizing the people in the commune to actively engage in production, develop socio-economic conditions, stabilize their lives, and implement a cultured lifestyle in residential areas; and promoting mass participation in self-management of border areas and boundary markers.
Concluding the conference, Comrade Vu Tien Dinh - Chairman of the District People's Committee - requested the Border Guard Station; the District Police; the District Military Command; and Phieng Pan commune to coordinate effectively in monitoring the situation in and outside the border area, ready to handle any situations in the area to avoid being caught off guard; strengthen propaganda and legal education, and raise awareness among the people in the border area. He also called for consolidating the political foundation, assisting the commune in socio-economic development, especially implementing the 12 policies of the District Party Committee Standing Committee to contribute to improving the lives of the people and maintaining political security in the border area. Furthermore, he emphasized strengthening the solidarity and friendship between the people and the border protection forces of Vietnam and Laos.
