From early morning, Mr. Dieu Chinh Dung, from Hamlet 4 (Muong Giang Commune, Quynh Nhai District, Son La Province), has been busy cleaning his precious photographs that capture the honorable moments of being with President Ho Chi Minh during his work trips when he was young.
Every year, on National Day, Mr. Dung's family gathers all their children and grandchildren to reminisce about stories and memories of his time with President Ho Chi Minh. At the same time, they express their profound respect for the man who founded the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Activities commemorating National Day on September 2nd have become a distinctive cultural feature of the people of various ethnic groups in Quynh Nhai district. On occasions like this, Mr. Dieu Chinh Xuan, Chairman of the Veterans Association of Quynh Nhai district, along with the people in the area, come together to hang the red flag with a yellow star in the most prominent place in front of their houses.
Mr. Xuan shared: "September 2nd is also an occasion for my children and grandchildren who are working or studying far away to come home and reunite with their families. On occasions like this, I often pass on my experiences in labor and production and educate my children and grandchildren about the revolutionary spirit of our homeland and the patriotic traditions of our nation."

Ms. Dieu Thi Hanh, from Hamlet 2, Muong Giang Commune, excitedly said: "Every year, on National Day, September 2nd, my family cleans the house to welcome Independence Day. Especially when we hang the national flag, I feel very proud and excited to live in the independence, peace, and happiness of our nation."
Quynh Nhai organized many activities in anticipation of National Day on September 2nd.
To celebrate National Day on September 2nd, Quynh Nhai district had previously organized vibrant cultural, artistic, and sports programs and activities, such as: a men's and women's volleyball tournament to celebrate National Day; an art program with the theme "Quynh Nhai - A Song of Pride" to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; posting dozens of news articles on the district's electronic information portal and broadcasting them on the public address system in communes and villages reflecting activities related to National Day on September 2nd; and planning to organize traditional folk games on National Day…

At the same time, Quynh Nhai district is organizing a cleanup of village roads and alleys, creating a green, clean, and beautiful environment. They are hanging 200 national flags, displaying 10 banners, and 300 meters of flagpoles with slogans; and trimming trees. They are investing 8 billion VND in urban beautification, resurfacing sidewalks, and installing decorative LED lighting systems in central areas, along main roads, and at the district's entrance gate. Over 200 million VND has been mobilized from social contributions to install decorative LED lighting systems along the main roads of the district center. They are also launching campaigns to ensure security, order, and traffic safety before, during, and after the National Day on September 2nd…

Over the 79 years since the country gained independence, the people of Quynh Nhai have celebrated Independence Day in various historical contexts. However, deep in their hearts, everyone understands that it is a momentous day in the nation's history, the day Vietnam gained independence, ushering in a new era where all citizens enjoy freedom and happiness.
