Previously, on August 11th, TikTokers had a field trip to Bao Minh Agricultural Service Cooperative and Hoa Muoi Agricultural Service Cooperative in Chieng Khoong commune, Song Ma district. These are two of many cooperatives producing fresh longan fruit and dried longan products in Song Ma district. There, the TikTokers created short videos telling stories of farming, showcasing local cuisine and agricultural products to introduce and promote OCOP products, fresh longan fruit, dried longan from Song Ma, and other agricultural products from Song Ma district and Son La province through modern and creative communication methods.
In recent years, Son La province has focused on directing and implementing high-tech agricultural production. Currently, the province has 110 OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, including: pure ground coffee, coffee husk tea; dried plums, oilfish, Trong Nguyen tea, various dried plum products, Xay Green Tea, dried persimmons, and many other agricultural products. Song Ma district has a large area of fruit trees, with nearly 11,000 hectares. Longan is the main fruit crop, covering approximately 7,500 hectares and producing 80,000 tons. Currently, 816 hectares, producing 9,779 tons, are cultivated according to VietGAP standards in 47 cooperatives with 46 export-oriented growing areas, totaling nearly 500 hectares. In Song Ma district, there are 3 OCOP products: Toan Thang Cooperative's dried mangoes (3 stars), Mr. Le Duc Anh's smoked buffalo meat (3 stars), and Quyet Thang honey (4 stars).
During the "Training Conference on Enhancing Skills in Selling OCOP Products Through Digital Media for Rural Youth" program, youth union members, young people, cooperatives, OCOP businesses, and the general public received training in promoting, introducing, and selling agricultural products and OCOP products on social e-commerce platforms.
TikTokers also conducted livestreams to introduce and promote OCOP products, fresh longan fruit, Song Ma longan, and other agricultural products from Son La province on the TikTok platform. The 4-hour livestream "OCOP Market - Son La - Returning to the Land of Agricultural Products," held on the morning of August 12th in Song Ma district, attracted over 20 million views and more than 570,000 people. During this time, 5 tons of Song Ma longan and 2,350 orders of agricultural products were sold, generating nearly 470 million VND in revenue.
Within the framework of the Digital Transformation Forum in the Communication and Promotion of OCOP Products by Youth, with the theme "Exploiting the Potential of the Digital Economy in the Promotion and Marketing of OCOP Products," delegates shared insights on exploiting the potential of the digital economy in the development, promotion, and consumption of OCOP products. Speakers from government agencies, e-commerce platforms, and TikTok sellers focused on discussing topics such as: exploiting the potential of the digital economy in the development, promotion, and consumption of OCOP products; the digital economy from the perspective of e-commerce; and promoting local resources in the digital space.

Furthermore, the forum attracted lively exchanges and discussions, with the most frequently asked questions and answers focusing on issues such as: where and how to start livestreaming sales; how to manage product quality when doing business on digital platforms like TikTok; how to ensure fairness and accuracy in the review process of OCOP products when they are listed on platforms; what support Son La province will provide in the future to promote e-commerce for OCOP products and agricultural products; and what strategies or support the Rural Youth Committee of the Central Youth Union has for developing and supporting rural youth in e-commerce… These questions were promptly answered by experts.
Mr. Hoang Manh Doan - Deputy Director of Song Ma Honey Beekeeping Cooperative, Son La:“Previously, our cooperative produced honey and sold it to regular customers, so the customer base was very fixed and not widely known. Over the past few years, thanks to digital platforms, we have promoted and sold our products on Facebook, reaching customers from all over the country. Sales on digital platforms have been relatively high, so we are hoping for even better promotion channels to expand our sales.”Mr. Doan's wish is also the expectation of the people of Song Ma district in particular, and the people of Son La province in general, regarding the digital transformation in agricultural production, especially in the product consumption stage, to help solve the long-standing problem of "bumper harvest, low prices".
Training conference to enhance skills in selling OCOP products through digital channels for rural youth.
It is believed that through the Training Workshop on Enhancing the Skills of Selling OCOP Products via Digital Platforms for Rural Youth and the Digital Transformation Forum in Communicating and Promoting Youth OCOP Products with the theme "Exploiting the Potential of the Digital Economy in Promoting OCOP Products" in 2023, the stakeholders, agricultural cooperatives, and youth of Song Ma District, Son La Province will be able to exploit the available potential in the locality to continue transforming on the journey of Digital Transformation, contributing to increasing the value of products and developing the local economy.
