For a long time, the Long Sap border gate (Moc Chau, Son La) has been a center for buying, selling, and exchanging goods between the ethnic communities on both sides of the Vietnam-Laos border. Especially every year on September 2nd, the people of both countries celebrate Vietnam's National Day with many attractive activities in the border area.
People in border areas celebrate National Day.
Long Sap is a border commune located about 30km from the center of Moc Chau district, with a national border gate with neighboring Laos. Amidst the festive atmosphere celebrating Vietnam's National Day, in a very special setting, people from Laos and the ethnic groups of Moc Chau, along with many tourists, gathered at the Long Sap national border gate to celebrate Vietnam's Independence Day.
Since the successful August Revolution of 1945, the people of Moc Chau have enthusiastically organized activities to celebrate National Day, gathering to sing, dance, and play lively folk games.

Mr. Luu Van Dung, a tourist from Hai Phong, shared: "I found the National Day atmosphere at the border very vibrant. The air was cool, and the people were very friendly and cheerful. It's ideal for tourists to visit. The ethnic groups in the border area each have their own unique cultural characteristics, creating different things to discover, so I really liked Northwest Vietnam."
The Independence Day celebration at the border in Moc Chau district featured a variety of activities such as competitions in traditional sports, folk games, and cultural exchanges with unique performances showcasing the rich cultural identity of the ethnic groups. Particularly captivating were the graceful dances of Laotian girls, adding to the program's appeal and demonstrating the close relationship between the two nations, as Laos also enthusiastically celebrated Vietnam's National Day.
Mr. Phu Vong, Company 214, Lao People's Democratic Republic, shared (translated from Lao): "The atmosphere on September 2nd in Vietnam is very joyful and vibrant. Participating in your National Day celebrations also makes me very happy. Cultural exchange activities like this help strengthen the solidarity and friendship between the two nations, Vietnam and Laos."

Strengthening solidarity among ethnic groups in border areas.
The Long Sap national border gate has long been a center for trade, exchange, and commerce between ethnic groups on both sides of the border, especially between the people of Moc Chau district, Son La province, and Sop Bau district, Hua Phan province, Lao People's Democratic Republic. To facilitate interaction between the people of the two countries and strengthen the solidarity between the two nations, the Long Sap Border Gate Border Guard Post has also implemented measures to ensure the safety of people participating in the Independence Day celebrations.

Major Cam Ba Thanh, Deputy Political Officer of the Long Sap Border Gate Border Guard Station, Moc Chau District, Son La Province, said: "To strengthen solidarity and friendship between the people on both sides of the border, following the direction of the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Standing Committee of the Moc Chau District Party Committee, the Border Gate Border Guard Station, and the Customs Station have created conditions for people to cross the border to interact and participate in activities celebrating National Day. Based on that, the unit has also developed plans and established working groups to monitor the border security situation so that people can participate in activities in a joyful and absolutely safe manner."
The sacred and proud National Day of the Vietnamese people is also a source of joy for the people of Laos. It is a vivid expression of the solidarity, cooperation, and friendship between the two nations and peoples of Vietnam and Laos, which the people of both countries have continuously nurtured for over 60 years.
