Types of tourism in Son La have been deployed in many diverse forms.
At the 31st World Travel Awards for Asia and Oceania in 2024 held on the evening of September 3, in Manila, Philippines, Moc Chau National Tourist Area of Son La province continued to be honored as "Asia's Leading Regional Natural Destination 2024", and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a decision to recognize Moc Chau National Tourist Area. In addition, there are hydroelectric reservoir tourism in Quynh Nhai, Muong La; tourist destinations in Ta Xua, Bac Yen; Ngoc Chien, Muong La... known and chosen by many tourists.
In response to the demand for tourism development in Son La in the coming years, the locality aims to make the province's tourism a safe and attractive destination in the Northwest region, building unique, different, professional, sustainable and internationally integrated tourism products... Some programs such as the annual Vietnam Trail Marathon held in Moc Chau district are increasingly attracting more domestic and international athletes. In 2024, the tournament will attract more than 4,000 athletes from 40 countries and territories around the world.
Athletes, especially foreign athletes, are very impressed with the trails, passing through many places with beautiful natural scenery, peaceful villages, grasslands, tea hills, plum and apricot blossom valleys. However, in reality, programs like this have not been widely organized in Son La.
Faced with these difficulties, localities in the province are implementing many solutions to attract domestic and international tourists. In Moc Chau district, along with diversifying tourism products and types, the district has promoted digital transformation, applying 4.0 technology to promote and develop tourism. Moc Chau district has built a Moc Chau digital tourism map (3D/360 Smart Interactive Tourism - Moc Chau-Son La); smart tourism application "Moc Chau Tour"... Helping businesses, units, and business households to exploit, communicate, and promote products and services to tourists and help tourists experience Moc Chau tourism safely and conveniently.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Vice Chairman of Moc Chau District People's Committee, informed: Moc Chau continues to promote and market Moc Chau tourism; using online media channels, social networks, tourism websites to introduce typical tourist destinations and unique experiences of Moc Chau. Focus on building brand image and creating trust for customers about service quality.
Recently, Quynh Nhai district and IGB Joint Stock Company also organized a program to sign a memorandum of understanding to sponsor smart tourism software in Quynh Nhai district. At the working program, IGB Joint Stock Company introduced the features of the smart tourism software. The software focuses on digitizing 5 core contents: Digitizing tourism of landmarks, indigenous cultural tourism, traditional product tourism, resort tourism and culinary tourism; through regularly updated and refreshed content, unique images, and a friendly interface, the software aims to introduce the potential, strengths, and tourism products of Quynh Nhai district, providing necessary information as a comprehensive guide to tourism in the lake area.
The sponsor also offers specific solutions for managing, operating, and developing the software according to the future roadmap. The software also integrates e-commerce to help tourism professionals promote and buy and sell products online through the application, increasing operational efficiency and contributing to increasing sales revenue of individuals, units, and tourism businesses when using the software. Supplement necessary content, suitable for the reality of tourism development in Quynh Nhai; agree on the content of the memorandum of understanding on implementation time, form of sponsorship, handover plan of operation methods and policies, benefits of sponsors and beneficiaries... Organize the signing of the memorandum of understanding to serve as a basis for implementation, putting the software into operation in the coming time.
