People's lives have improved significantly, the poverty rate has decreased rapidly and sustainably, now only 14.1%; the great national unity bloc has been built more and more firmly.
In the period of 2024 - 2029, Son La province continues to focus investment resources on comprehensive socio-economic development of ethnic minority areas. The goal by 2029 is that Son La strives to increase the average income of ethnic minorities by more than 2 times compared to 2024; the multidimensional poverty rate among ethnic minorities will decrease to below 10%. The rate of working-age people who receive vocational training suitable to their needs and conditions and have stable income will reach over 50%.

These are specific goals for implementing ethnic work in Son La province in the period of 2024 - 2029, which will be discussed and agreed upon at the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Son La province in 2024.
As planned, the Congress will take place on September 17 and 18, with the theme "Ethnic groups unite, innovate, and create; promote advantages, potentials, integrate, and join hands to build Son La province to develop greenly, quickly, and sustainably."

The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Son La Province in 2024 will take place on September 17 and 18.
It is expected that there will be more than 330 delegates attending the Congress, including representatives of typical and prominent faces of 11 ethnic minorities in Son La province.
The congress will summarize and evaluate the results of ethnic work, ethnic policies, infrastructure development, poverty reduction, new rural construction... in the period of 2019 - 2024. At the same time, it is a forum for exchange, learning, and sharing of experiences among ethnic groups. Honor, commend, and reward outstanding collectives and individuals among ethnic minorities in Son La province during the integration and development period.
