Due to the impact of storm No. 3, Muong La district has 1 person missing; 90 houses affected, of which 2 houses were completely swept away by flood, 1 house was completely buried, 48 houses had to be urgently evacuated, 4 houses were flooded by rocks and soil, 39 houses are at high risk of landslides, 1 camp house was completely swept away.

In addition, the flood also submerged and buried more than 169 hectares of rice; 5.25 hectares of fish ponds; 20 hectares of corn were damaged; Road 279D was eroded and buried with about 1,800 cubic meters of soil and rock. Along with that, flash floods destroyed many inter-commune and inter-village roads; damaged 2 spillways; floods swept away 2 suspension bridges...

Ngoc Chien Commune is the locality of Muong La District that suffered the most damage after the recent natural disaster. After inspecting the situation in Ngoc Chien commune, listening to the report on the damage from local leaders and the work of overcoming the consequences of floods, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia sent his condolences, encouragement and visits to the households affected by natural disasters; hoping that the households will try to overcome the consequences, overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

In order to help households overcome immediate difficulties, the Head of the Central Propaganda Department and the Working Group presented 25 gifts to families affected by storm No. 3, each family received 1 million VND in cash and a gift bag of essential goods; presented 25 gifts to students in difficult circumstances, each gift included 1 million VND in cash and a gift bag of cakes and candies on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

At the meeting, leaders of Son La province reported on the results of the work of preventing, responding to, and overcoming the consequences of floods caused by the circulation of storms No. 2 and No. 3 in the province.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department acknowledged the proactive spirit and readiness to respond to and overcome natural disasters and floods of the leaders and functional forces of Son La province; thereby contributing to minimizing human and property losses of the people.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department suggested that Son La province, which has done a good job in the past, should continue to do better according to the "4 on-site" motto, closely monitor the flood situation; effectively implement solutions to evacuate people in areas at risk of landslides and flooding to safe places. At the same time, the province should take measures to support people in overcoming the consequences of floods; do a good job of environmental sanitation, disease prevention and control after floods; have plans to support people in restoring production and stabilizing their lives soon; help and create the best conditions for students to go to school and enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival...
