Strengthening international cooperation in Education and Training, implementing the Minutes signed between Son La province and the Northern Lao provinces, from 1969 to present, Son La province has trained thousands of cadres, students and pupils in the Northern Lao provinces at educational institutions in the province. Recently, our province has issued policies to support Lao students studying at Tay Bac University, Son La College and Son La Medical College. In addition, training institutions regularly organize cultural, artistic, sports, sightseeing and experience activities, such as: Organizing Bunpimay New Year, Vietnamese Lunar New Year; activities to celebrate the National Day of the Lao PDR; competitions to learn about Vietnamese - Lao culture, sports and arts competitions; Vietnamese language clubs; Organize for Lao students to visit, study and experience historical revolutionary sites, cultural sites and festivals, landscapes and scenic spots in Son La province and some provinces of Vietnam. The Department of Education and Training of Son La is authorized by the Provincial People's Committee to provide comprehensive advice on training Lao students. From 2001 to present, Son La province has trained 2,294 Lao students to graduate from various levels of training (intermediate, college, university and master); a total of 3,939 Lao students have been trained in Vietnamese.
Over the years, Son La province has Coordinate with the Northern Lao provinces to organize seminars to exchange solutions to improve the quality of education and training between the Department of Education and Training of Son La province and the Department of Education and Sports of the Northern Lao provinces. At the seminar, delegates exchanged and shared experiences in education management and development, effective solutions in improving the quality of education and training, and cooperation in training Lao students... On that basis, they continued to advise provincial leaders on policies and solutions to continue to lead and direct effective education development; at the same time, they proposed and contributed quality ideas to continue to effectively implement cooperation in the field of education. Improving the quality of human resource training for the provinces of the Lao PDR not only contributes to training a team of highly qualified cadres from neighboring countries, but also contributes to affirming the increasingly strong relationship of solidarity, special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States, and between Son La province and the northern provinces of Laos.
