(sonla.gov.vn) The first Son La Coffee Festival in 2023 was held in Son La City from October 10th to October 13th, 2023. This was a practical activity to celebrate the 128th anniversary of the founding of Son La province (October 10th, 1895 - October 10th, 2023) and the 15th anniversary of the founding of Son La city (October 26th, 1998 - October 26th, 2023).

Son La is the province with the largest coffee growing area in Northern Vietnam.
The first Son La Coffee Festival in 2023 was held in Son La City from October 10th to October 13th, 2023. The festival included activities such as the Opening Ceremony."Arabica from Son La - The flavor of the Northwest mountains and forests";The event includes a flower and incense offering ceremony to President Ho Chi Minh; a trade fair and exhibition themed "Son La Coffee - Integration and Development"; a seminar on improving the quality of Son La coffee "Sustainable Coffee Production"; a conference connecting coffee product trade; an exhibition of beautiful photos "Son La Coffee - The Journey of Building a Brand"; a farmers' talent competition; a coffee gala night; the organization of experiential and exploratory coffee tourism tours; the inauguration of investment projects in the coffee sector: the inauguration of the Cascara tea production line, the inauguration of the Son La coffee processing plant; and a book fair "Son La Shines Towards the Future". Particularly, the closing ceremony themed "Son La Arabica - The Origin of Creativity" will take place at the Northwest Square with a spectacular welcoming art program that will be broadcast live on Son La Provincial Radio and Television.
Through a series of events aimed at promoting Son La coffee, developing high-quality coffee, contributing to enhancing its value and affirming its position in domestic and international markets; honoring coffee growers, producers, processors, and traders; and encouraging the community to work together to foster the development of coffee culture in Son La province in particular and Vietnam in general. This is an opportunity to showcase the unique image of coffee culture, the people, potential strengths, and tourism of the province, creating an image of Son La as a friendly and hospitable place, attracting investors and tourists to Son La; boosting production development, connecting supply and demand, promoting innovation, increasing income, and stabilizing the lives of ethnic minorities and people in mountainous areas. To promote entrepreneurship and business startups, and support the economic restructuring process towards increasing the proportion of goods and services in particularly disadvantaged communes inhabited by ethnic minorities, based on the potential, strengths, and available resources of the locality.
