On September 20th, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the writing contest on "Exemplary Advanced Models, Good People, Good Deeds in Patriotic Emulation Movements" in Son La province, 2023-2025 period.

The writing contest "Outstanding Exemplary Individuals and Good Deeds in Patriotic Emulation Movements" in Son La province, for the period 2023-2025, was launched by the Provincial People's Committee in June 2024. The contest aims to promote the identification, introduction, dissemination, and replication of outstanding exemplary individuals and good deeds in learning, work, labor, production, and business; acts of kindness and compassion; and courageous individuals... with innovative and effective approaches, concrete actions and deeds associated with "Studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh," making positive contributions to socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security of the locality, and creating a positive ripple effect in the community.
The competition is open to all citizens working, studying, laboring, and living in the province. Entries must be articles or journalistic works reflecting real people and events, clearly identifying the individuals and locations where exemplary individuals and good deeds reside, study, or work, and must not be fictional. These exemplary individuals and good deeds should be new factors or events discovered within the local or unit's emulation movement, not previously recognized or rewarded by any agency or organization, or those that have been recognized but continue to perform new actions and make positive and effective contributions to the socio-economic development of the locality or unit.
Each written entry should not exceed 2,000 words; radio and television programs should not exceed 7 minutes in length. For journalistic works published or broadcast on mass media, the deadline for submissions is from the launch of the competition until the end of June 2025. The awards ceremony is tentatively scheduled to be held during the 6th Provincial Emulation Congress in 2025.
Comrade La Minh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Son La Newspaper, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, and Head of the Judging Panel of the Competition, delivered a speech at the meeting.
At the meeting, the draft assignment of tasks to members of the Organizing Committee, the Judging Panel, and the Secretariat for the competition was approved. Delegates provided feedback on the competition implementation plan, scoring criteria, content, format of entries, timeframe, etc., to ensure the competition achieves the best possible results.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong requested the Department of Internal Affairs - the Standing Agency of the Organizing Committee of the competition - to incorporate the opinions of the members and continue to revise and supplement the regulations, assign tasks, and finalize them soon for issuance and timely implementation; to recruit more members to assist the Judging Panel in participating in the preliminary selection, evaluation, and grading of the entries. The Organizing Committee and the press agencies should actively promote the competition, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency; contributing to attracting, spreading, and mobilizing the participation of a large number of cadres, Party members, civil servants, public employees, armed forces personnel, students, and the general public. Selecting the right examples of good people and good deeds, truly exemplary models with widespread influence, will create a spirit of emulation to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the province's founding (October 10, 1895 - October 10, 2025), the 16th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, and the 6th Son La Provincial Emulation Congress in 2025.
