(congan.sonla.gov.vn) On September 11th, the Son La Provincial Police and the Hua Phan Provincial Police (Lao People's Democratic Republic) held a conference to exchange information on coordinating efforts to ensure security and order, and border security in 2023. The Hua Phan Provincial Police delegation was led by Colonel Am Phon Phan Ma Chan, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police. Representing the Son La Provincial Police were Colonel Tran Thanh Son, Deputy Director, and representatives from various professional departments of the Son La Provincial Police.

At the conference, the police forces of Son La and Hua Phan provinces reported on the coordination of security and border security work in 2023. Specifically, the Son La police force implemented numerous programs and plans to prevent and combat crime, while also closely coordinating border management, disseminating information, and educating the people on both sides of the border about territorial sovereignty. They regularly exchanged information on the situation, methods, and tactics of various types of crime, especially transnational crime, and promptly detected and strictly handled violations of the law. In the coming period, the two units will regularly exchange information on security and border security; continue to exchange information and experiences; and coordinate in developing and implementing plans and strategies to ensure security and order; and jointly survey key areas with complex political security issues in the border region.
On this occasion, the Foreign Security Department and the Investigation Security Department of the Son La Provincial Police donated two computer sets to the Hua Phan Provincial Police for use in their work.
