Undeterred by difficulties, youth union members and young people worked side-by-side with the government and people to overcome the consequences of the disaster, quickly stabilizing people's lives and production.

Youth union members in Chiềng Đen commune are assisting households affected by natural disasters in restoring production.

Participating in disaster relief efforts, from the end of July to the end of August, the City Youth Union established 12 volunteer teams, mobilizing nearly 1,000 youth union members to assist 367 households, 5 schools, and 6 cultural centers in moving belongings and clearing landslides. They also mobilized youth union members, organizations, and individuals to donate blankets, mosquito nets, and essential necessities to support 43 households affected by the storms and floods. In addition, they actively participated in volunteer programs such as "Supporting the Exam Season," "Green March," "Gratitude and Remembrance," and "Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation"...

Mr. Luong Van Ban, from Phieng Nghe village, Chieng Den commune, City, said: "Immediately after the floodwaters receded, my family's house was still in disarray. Youth union members from the City, Chieng Den commune, and Chieng Co commune promptly came to help clean up, sanitize, and disinfect, and my family quickly stabilized our lives."

The "Professor in a Blue Coat - Nurturing the Future" model is organized by the Moc Chau District Youth Union.

In Moc Chau district, the "Green Shirt Tutors - Nurturing the Future" model is a highlight of the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. The model is implemented in all communes and towns, with the participation of 50 volunteers, providing free classes for 113 disadvantaged children. Besides academic support, the children also participate in beneficial extracurricular activities and develop essential life skills.

Ms. Pham Tu Uyen, Secretary of the Moc Chau District Youth Union, shared: "The 'Green Shirt Tutor' program demonstrates the spirit of mutual support among young people. Through supporting their studies and equipping them with life skills, we hope to help disadvantaged children confidently move forward on their educational path and thrive in life."

Youth Union members of Yen Chau District Youth Union launched a tree planting campaign along the internal road of Than village, Chieng Pan commune.

Participating in the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the Youth Union of Tay Bac University effectively implemented three meaningful volunteer programs: "Pink Holiday," "Supporting the Exam Season," and "Green Summer." The Youth Union coordinated the deployment of 10 teams and over 1,000 volunteers to carry out many meaningful activities, such as: collecting waste, planting trees, giving gifts to disadvantaged households, clearing canals, cleaning the environment, preventing accidents and injuries, mitigating the consequences of floods, and constructing youth projects such as "Youth Flower Road" and "Village Light"... with a total value of 26 million VND.

English classes taught by youth union members are organized free of charge in Chiềng Lề ward, City.

The 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign has concluded, with the entire province connecting and organizing 1,365 volunteer teams, attracting over 46,000 participants including youth union members, young people, cadres, and soldiers of the armed forces.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, said: The 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign has achieved many successes. Youth Union organizations have implemented many meaningful activities, completing and exceeding the set targets. Notably, 13 provincial-level projects, 59 district-level projects, and 407 grassroots-level projects have been constructed, with a total value of over 7 billion VND; 26 new civilized streets have been built with the criteria of "bright - green - clean - beautiful - civilized - safe," exceeding the target by 14 streets; 22 new houses of compassion, houses of gratitude, Red Scarf houses, and boarding houses have been built, exceeding the target by 9 houses; 202 km of rural roads have been repaired and 6.6 km of new rural roads have been constructed...

The series of activities of the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign created an environment for union members and young people to train, contribute, and grow, contributing to the formation of a generation of young people who live beautifully, possess strong character and intelligence, know how to share and help the community, and build a more developed homeland.
