On September 24th, Bac Yen district relocated 94 households from areas at high risk of landslides.
The evacuation camp is located in Tang village, Chieng Sai commune.
In accordance with Decision No. 1938/QD-UBND dated September 17, 2024, of the Son La Provincial People's Committee on declaring a state of emergency due to natural disasters to respond to heavy rain and landslides in the communes of Muong Bu, Ngoc Chien, Pi Toong, Ta Bu in Muong La district and Ngam village in Song Pe commune, Bac Yen district, the leaders of Bac Yen district have decisively directed the evacuation of 107 households in Ngam village from the landslide-prone area. To date, the district has completed the evacuation of 94 households with 498 people from the dangerous area. Currently, there are 13 households whose members are working away from home and are not there, therefore, the district has not arranged for their relocation. These households have been moved to the homes of relatives and acquaintances in Cua Sap village, Da Do commune, Phu Yen district; Tang village, Chieng Sai Primary School; and temporary shelters at the Suoi Tao resettlement area, Tang village, Chieng Sai commune, Bac Yen district. The district also mobilized more than 1,000 people to help residents transport their belongings and set up 96 temporary shelters.
