Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien directly inspected the preparation work at: Long Sap border gate area, Long Sap border gate Border Guard Station, training ground for coordination in fighting and preventing drug crimes, Long Sap Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Moc Chau District Administrative Center, the locations where the main activities in the exchange program will take place.

After the field inspection, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien chaired a meeting to review the experience in preparing for the exchange program. At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien praised and highly appreciated the relevant agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense for actively and proactively implementing the preparation work for the 2nd Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program, ensuring the basic completion of the contents and tasks according to the assigned plan; at the same time, he thanked the close coordination and cooperation of departments, branches, sectors and localities of Son La province in organizing the implementation. Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien also listened to the suggestions and opinions of the agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense as well as the authorities.

Speaking at the conclusion of the inspection, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien emphasized that the 2nd Vietnam - Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program is an opportunity to contribute to fostering the close relationship between the two countries, especially the people in the border areas of the two countries, while promoting the sense of responsibility of the border protection forces of the two countries to join hands to coordinate more closely and effectively in protecting the border, landmarks, fighting and preventing crimes, helping people to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, building a peaceful, friendly, stable, cooperative and mutually developing Vietnam - Laos border.

In that spirit, he requested relevant agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense, based on their assigned tasks, to continue to promote a sense of responsibility, closely coordinate and cooperate with each other as well as with departments, branches and localities of Son La province to continue to complete all preparations, ensuring the successful organization of the 2nd Vietnam - Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program.
