Tourism infrastructure is invested in a synchronous manner, with over VND 1,149 billion allocated for 14 projects in the 2021-2025 period. From 2021 to July 2024, the province will attract 13 investment projects in the fields of tourism, services, trade, and agriculture with a registered capital of VND 14,515 billion.
"Through these projects, Son La people, especially ethnic minorities, have the opportunity to develop their household economy and improve their quality of life," said Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province.
Many large-scale, modern tourism projects and tourist areas, according to international standards, have been formed and put into operation. Many tourism products have been formed and developed in association with ecology, agriculture and culture.

Focusing on investing in building the Hoa Binh-Moc Chau expressway; completing the National Highway 6 bypass, the section through Son La city; renovating and upgrading Na San Airport and renovating and upgrading national highways, etc.

The Son La hydroelectric reservoir area is included in the national tourism system planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045. There are 12 recognized tourist areas and tourist spots, including: 1 national tourist area, 1 provincial tourist area and 10 provincial tourist spots.
Tourist arrivals reached over 12 million, revenue from tourism activities reached 12,600 billion VND; fast and stable growth at 13%/year, contributing about 6% of GRDP. The position of the tourism industry in the socio-economic development of the province is increasingly enhanced; gradually building Son La province into a tourist center of the Northwest region.
"In the coming time, Son La will invest in building the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway; prioritize resources for infrastructure investment to develop Moc Chau National Tourist Area and Son La hydroelectric reservoir area; make tourism a key economic sector of the province by 2030... Enhance the position of the tourism industry in the socio-economic development of Son La province, gradually build Son La province into a tourism center of the Northwest region", Mr. Khanh further emphasized.
