Currently, Chieng Coi ward has 8 groups, hamlets, 1,627 households, more than 6,820 people with 11 ethnic groups living together, mainly Thai and Kinh ethnic groups. Ms. Ha Thi Anh, cultural and social officer, Chieng Coi ward, said: To preserve and promote the cultural identity of the Thai ethnic group and spread the vibrant and widespread development of the art movement, the ward has established 3 Thai ethnic cultural clubs in Chau Co village, Coong Noi village and group 1, attracting 150 members to participate, maintaining regular activities, serving cultural exchanges on holidays and Tet. At the same time, research, collect, preserve, promote, introduce and promote the cultural identity of the Thai ethnic group.
The Thai ethnic cultural club in Chau Co village, consisting of 64 members, are artisans and actors living, studying, working and working in the ward who are talented, capable of composing, staging and performing art programs and voluntarily join the club.
Mr. Leo Dung Nhi, Chairman of the Club, shared: Currently, the Club has 3 art teams of 3 generations, regularly practicing, recreating art programs; sports activities, playing games like to ma le, to phai are organized 3 sessions/week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday... Members are always enthusiastic to participate in art performances in major events organized by the City and the Province such as participating in xoe dance to celebrate the Party, celebrate spring and the Ceremony to honor Son La city as "Global Learning City".
In addition to promoting cultural and artistic development, the Club also collects more than 70 artifacts, including labor tools, folk games, musical instruments, and brocade weaving frames for display; maintains a Thai language class for adults, which is expected to close this October. Ms. Lo Thi Mai Cuong, a member of the Club, shared: Every week, members of the Thai Cultural Club of Chau Co village gather at the village cultural house for activities, with many activities, playing folk games, practicing singing, dancing, teaching Thai language... The establishment of the Club helps everyone to exchange, learn, preserve and pass on the precious cultural heritage of the Thai ethnic group.
Promoting the achieved results, the People's Committee of Chieng Coi Ward continues to propagate and mobilize the core, artisans, those who are talented and good at culture, arts, customs and practices of the Thai ethnic group, especially the young generation to participate in activities in clubs to actively promote the cultural and artistic movement; direct the clubs to collect objects and tools of the Thai ethnic group to add to the exhibition house. Mobilize cadres, civil servants, workers and people in the ward to participate in folk dance competitions, "Thai Xoe Art" and "Solidarity Dance" competitions organized annually by the City...
