(sonla.gov.vn) On September 21, 2023, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank), in coordination with the Son La Provincial Youth Union, organized the inauguration ceremony of the La Ha ethnic community cultural house in Ban Hien, Liep Te commune, Thuan Chau district, Son La province.
Attending the ceremony were Comrade Bui Quang Huy, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, and Chairman of the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth; and representatives from Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank). Representing Son La province were Comrade Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; and Comrade Vi Duc Tho, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province.

Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the La Ha ethnic cultural center in Liep Te commune, Thuan Chau district.
The building, designed in a modern style while still retaining the cultural identity of the La Ha ethnic group, includes restrooms, a corrugated iron roof, and other auxiliary facilities, with a total area of 237.6 square meters. The cultural center project cost over 1 billion VND to construct. This is the fourth in a series of 16 community cultural centers established through the "Steps for the Community" program launched by the Vietnam Youth Union and supported by Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank).

The cultural center will serve as a space for collecting, researching, preserving, and promoting the values of the ethnic cultural heritage, linked to the socio-economic development goals of the locality. At the same time, it will be a place for the La Ha people to engage in cultural activities, strengthen solidarity, and a venue for youth volunteers to organize programs and activities for ethnic minorities.
The National Volunteer Information Center donates a "Happy House" to underprivileged children.
The La Ha ethnic people also received free medical examinations, medication, and health consultations.
Within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee awarded 20 gifts to ethnic minority students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have excelled in their studies; 20 gifts to La Ha ethnic minority families facing difficulties; and 100 welfare gift bags to village elders, community leaders, influential people, and people in difficult circumstances in Thuan Chau district. In addition, after the ceremony, the La Ha ethnic minority people received free health check-ups, medication, and health consultations; assistance in obtaining citizen identification cards and installing level 2 electronic identification and creating electronic payment accounts; and a team of volunteer youth organized free haircuts for the people.
