According to information from the Son La Provincial Border Guard Command, one of the 60 breeding cows that the Ministry of National Defense organized to be given to the people on both sides of the border (30 in Vietnam, 30 in Laos) on October 2nd (as part of the 2nd Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program) gave birth to a calf on October 7th.

Recently, at the Long Sap border gate area (Moc Chau district, Son La province) and Pa Hang border gate area (Sop Bau district, Hua Phan province, Laos), the Ministry of National Defense authorized the Border Guard Command to organize a series of activities leading up to the 2nd Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange in Son La province. These included many meaningful activities such as: awarding 20 scholarships under the "Helping Children Go to School" program to students on both sides of the border; an exchange of young officers; planting a friendship garden and a row of friendship trees between young Vietnamese and Lao officers at the national border marker 255; a cross-border cross-country race; and donating breeding cattle to people on both sides of the border...
Of the 60 breeding cows donated this time, 12 are pregnant. By October 7th, the first cow belonging to Ms. Vi Thi Van's family (Bo Sap village, Long Sap commune, Moc Chau district, Son La province) had given birth to a calf. This is the first achievement of the breeding cow support program.

Ms. Vi Thi Van happily shared: “When the Border Guard officers informed us that our family would receive a breeding cow, we were very happy and excited. After receiving the cow, we took very careful care of it, and surprisingly, after only 5 days, the cow gave birth. So we now have another calf. We are very grateful to the Ministry of National Defense and the Border Guard Command for supporting our family.”
