(sonlatv.vn) - On October 11, 2024, Son La province held a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day (October 13, 2004 - October 13, 2024).
Attending the ceremony were Comrade Lo Minh Hung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Nguyen Thai Hung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and organizations; leaders of the Provincial Business Association; representatives of member associations and organizations; and more than 200 outstanding entrepreneurs and businesses.
Immediately after the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on October 13, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter to the Vietnamese business community to encourage development and emphasize the role of the business community in the national economy. Inheriting and developing his ideas, 20 years ago, the Prime Minister decided to designate October 13th as Vietnam Entrepreneurs' Day. Currently, the Vietnamese business community has developed strongly in both quantity and quality, increasingly affirming its role and making important contributions to the economy. In Son La province, the business community and entrepreneurs are growing rapidly. By August 2024, the province had over 3,667 enterprises; 1,045 cooperatives; and over 51,000 business households that have made significant contributions to economic and social growth and stability, actively contributing to job creation and income for workers. Contributing to the state budget and implementing social welfare policies.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Lo Minh Hung affirmed that over the years, Son La province has consistently paid attention to and supported businesses; implemented policies to support and improve the investment environment, attracting investment capital from domestic and foreign businesses; and resolutely directed administrative procedure reforms, creating favorable conditions for businesses to develop comprehensively and achieve high efficiency in production and business activities.
At the commemoration ceremony, 10 individuals received commemorative medals for their contributions to the development of Vietnamese businesses and for their contributions to the construction and development of Son La province. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry, and the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises awarded certificates of merit to 36 collectives and 27 individuals who have achieved outstanding results in production and business, contributed to the state budget, and actively participated in social welfare activities.
On this occasion, the Son La Provincial Business Association handed over 938 million VND from businesses and entrepreneurs in the province to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province to support the people in overcoming the consequences of the floods.
