This activity is within the framework of the second Vietnam - Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange program.

On October 12, a working delegation from the Vietnam People's Army, consisting of more than 70 medical officers and staff, with the core members coming from Military Hospital 6 (Military Region 2), with the support of the 108 Military Central Hospital, traveled a long way to Sop Bao district to coordinate with the Lao People's Army medical staff to organize medical examinations for people in the border area according to the established plan.
During the examination and treatment process, the team of doctors and military medical staff from the two countries' armies will examine, screen, detect common diseases, and disseminate knowledge about health care, protection, and disease prevention to people in border areas. This is also an opportunity for military medical staff from both countries to exchange, share, and learn from each other's experiences in medical practice and military medical organization in specific conditions.

At the same time, he requested that agencies and functional forces closely coordinate and cooperate, strengthen protection work, ensure security and safety of the area; organize patrols and guards well, and proactively take measures and plans to be ready to effectively handle arising situations.

According to the plan, during the 2 days in Sop Bao district, the medical staff of the two countries will examine, treat and provide free medicine for about 1,500 people in the border area of the district. After that, the medical staff of the two countries will continue to carry out joint medical examination and treatment activities and provide free medicine for people in the border area of Moc Chau district, Son La province.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the military medical forces of the two countries, with the support and coordination of local medical staff, carried out medical examinations, treatment, and free medicine provision for the people of Sop Bao district as planned.
