This activity is part of the second Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange Program.

On October 12th, a delegation from the Vietnam People's Army, consisting of over 70 military medical officers and personnel, with the core group coming from Military Hospital 6 (Military Region 2), and supported by forces from the Central Military Hospital 108, traveled a long distance to Sop Bao district to coordinate with the Lao People's Army medical corps in organizing medical examinations for people in the border area according to the established plan.
During the medical examination and treatment process, medical teams and military medical personnel from both countries will examine, screen, and detect common diseases, and disseminate knowledge about health care, protection, and disease prevention to people in the border area. This is also an opportunity for military medical personnel from both countries to exchange, share, and learn from each other's experiences in medical practice and military medical organization under specific conditions.

The head of the Vietnamese delegation expressed his hope that during the mission, doctors and medical staff from both sides would strengthen exchanges, share experiences, learn from each other, and continuously improve their professional skills in all aspects. He also requested that relevant agencies and forces coordinate closely, strengthen security and safety measures in the area, organize effective patrols and guard duties, and proactively prepare measures and plans to effectively handle any arising situations.

According to the plan, during the two days in Sop Bao district, medical personnel from both countries will provide free medical examinations, treatment, and medication to approximately 1,500 people in the border area of the district. Following this, the medical forces from both countries will continue their joint medical activities, providing free medical examinations, treatment, and medication to people in the border area of Moc Chau district, Son La province.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, military medical personnel from both countries, with the support and coordination of local health officials and staff, began providing free medical examinations, treatment, and medication to the people of Sop Bao district as planned.
