(Chinhphu.vn) - To ensure that agricultural products are connected to consumption in domestic, inter-provincial and foreign markets, the Provincial Steering Committee on production, processing, consumption and export of agricultural products (Provincial Steering Committee 598) has directed its members to promote trade expansion, trade promotion, technical support for planting, processing, preservation and increasing the value of agricultural products.

Establishment of Provincial Steering Committee on production, processing, consumption and export of agricultural products
Accordingly, the departments, branches and sectors that are members of the Provincial Steering Committee 598 have advised the Provincial People's Committee to work with central ministries, branches, foreign diplomatic missions in Vietnam and large enterprises, such as Vietnam Airlines Corporation, Central Retail Vietnam Joint Stock Company... to support Son La province in promoting and connecting the consumption of the province's key agricultural products. Regularly update information and developments in customs clearance at border gates, support enterprises and cooperatives in regulating import and export activities.
Ms. Do Thi Bich Chau, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Son La province, said: The Department has coordinated with departments, branches, People's Committees of districts and cities to advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue plans on exporting goods and products; plans for trade promotion and e-commerce development; issue lists of key products and production and business establishments. It is recommended that agencies and units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities support Son La province in regional linkages, organize training conferences on trade promotion skills, product packaging design and training on e-commerce; livestream sales via social networking channels; participate in trade promotion conferences with the Vietnamese trade office system abroad.
At the same time, the Department of Industry and Trade of Son La province coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade of Lao Cai province to organize a connection between Minh Khai Import-Export Trading Joint Stock Company and Chinese import partners to survey the growing areas and work directly with enterprises and cooperatives producing, collecting and packaging mango products in the districts of Muong La, Mai Son, Yen Chau and Song Ma. Organized a delegation of enterprises and cooperatives of the province to survey the business and export models of enterprises in Lao Cai province and discuss cooperation and linkage contents. Coordinated with agencies and units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize 3 training courses on food safety in Mai Son, Song Ma and Sop Cop districts; 2 training courses on e-commerce, skills for participating in sales on e-commerce platforms and social networks in Yen Chau and Moc Chau districts.
Ms. Dang Thi Ha, Director of Manh Khoi Agricultural Cooperative, Muong Bu Commune, Muong La District, shared: Since the beginning of the year, every day, the Cooperative has purchased 10 tons of fresh bananas from people in Muong La, Yen Chau, Phu Yen, Song Ma, and Moc Chau districts to export to China through Tan Thanh Border Gate, Lang Son Province, and Kim Thanh Border Gate, Lao Cai Province. With the support and favorable conditions of the province and Muong La District to participate in the fair, in June 2024, the Cooperative continued to export fresh bananas to Thailand through Lao Bao Border Gate, Quang Tri Province.

To help businesses and cooperatives connect, find partners, and expand product consumption markets, the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center has created conditions for businesses, cooperatives, and business households to participate in displaying, introducing, and promoting agricultural products at events: Son La - Hua Phan Cultural Tourism Festival 2024; The first Ha Giang International Cultural and Culinary Tourism Festival 2024; Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival; Dien Bien Northwest Industry and Trade Fair... Inviting businesses and cooperatives to participate in 38 event programs in the provinces and cities: Hai Phong, Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong.
Ms. Le Thi Hong Anh, Director of the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, informed: Since the beginning of the year, the Center has advised on the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the People's Committee of Son La province and Vietnam Airlines Corporation; organized 5 booths to display and introduce tourism products and OCOP of the province at the Ceremony to announce the Decision to recognize Moc Chau National Tourist Area; organized the departure ceremony to bring "Son La plum" into the distribution system of Saigon Co.op nationwide; organized booths to display, promote and introduce Son La agricultural products at the distribution system of Saigon Co.op in Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Vo Tran Ngoc, Sales Director of Saigon Co.op, shared: In the 2024 plum season, Saigon Co.op has connected to purchase 100 tons of "Son La plum" to bring to 130 Co.opmart and Co.opXtra supermarkets nationwide, receiving positive feedback from customers, highly appreciating the design and quality of the products. With 800 points of sale in 43/63 provinces and cities nationwide, we continue to survey, connect, and consume more agricultural products and OCOP products of Son La province.
In addition to Saigon Co.op, the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center has advised on the development of a cooperation agreement between the People's Committee of Son La province, WinCommerce General Trading Services Joint Stock Company and Central Retail Vietnam Group, contributing to bringing many safe agricultural products of Son La to the high-end sales systems nationwide of large brands and corporations.
Bringing 'Son La Plum' into Saigon Co.op's distribution system
To improve the quality of agricultural products, meet the requirements of domestic partners and serve exports, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued documents guiding farmers, businesses, and cooperatives to develop high-tech agriculture, clean agriculture, and organic agriculture.
Ms. Cam Thi Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said: In the past 6 months, the Department has supported and maintained 5 high-tech agricultural zones; 285 safe agricultural and aquatic food supply chains; 119 export codes to China; 30 export codes to the United States; 41 export codes to Australia; 9 export codes to New Zealand, 3 export codes to the EU, 3 export codes to other markets; 11 codes for agricultural export packaging facilities; 9 codes for growing areas in the cultivation sector. Appraisal of the application for recognition of high-tech coffee production zones of Son La Coffee Processing Joint Stock Company in Chieng Chung and Chieng Ban communes, Mai Son district.
The Department of Science and Technology has carried out steps to approve the list and select organizations to take charge of implementing 6 tasks to serve agricultural development; maintain and promote the development of 28 agricultural products of the province that have been granted protection certificates by the Department of Intellectual Property.
Districts and cities also proactively develop plans, implement trade promotion activities, promote propaganda, and guide businesses and cooperatives to apply scientific and technical advances in planting, caring for, preserving, and processing agricultural products...
With the efforts of the members of the Provincial Steering Committee 598, from the beginning of the year to July 20, the whole province consumed over 206,630 tons of fruits of all kinds, worth over VND 2,699 billion. To promote the consumption of agricultural products, the province continues to direct and support enterprises and cooperatives in applying scientific and technical advances in planting, caring for, preserving and processing products. Striving for the value of goods participating in the province's exports in 2024 to reach over 196 million USD.
