(daidoanket.vn) - Implementing National Target Program 1719, Son La province has mobilized the responsible participation of the entire political system and the consensus of all strata of the people. Through this, it has effectively utilized resources from the program, improving and enhancing the lives of people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

After more than three years of implementing the National Target Program 1719, Son La province has successfully met and exceeded socio-economic targets. The province has basically resolved the land shortage for 179 households and the shortage of production land for 239 households of ethnic minorities; successfully facilitated job placement for 20,722 workers; supported vocational training for 3,107 workers from poor and near-poor households in the province; and created conditions for 30 workers from poor districts to work abroad under contract.
By the end of 2023, the average income of ethnic minority people in Son La province reached 21.68 million VND/person; the poverty rate in the province decreased by an average of over 3% per year, currently standing at 14.41%; 97.55% of communes and 72.81% of villages have roads leading to their centers; 72.1% of schools, classrooms and health stations are built with solid structures; 94.6% of households have access to the national power grid and other suitable power sources; and 97.5% of ethnic minority households have access to clean drinking water.
In 2024, the total state budget allocated to the three national target programs in Son La province was over 3,454 billion VND. Of this amount, nearly 1,192 billion VND was carried over from 2023.
According to Mr. Luong Van Toan, Deputy Head of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of Son La province, the unit is continuing to advise the Son La Provincial People's Committee to propose and recommend to the Central Government solutions to overcome difficulties and obstacles, promote production development, exploit potential and advantages, innovate, increase income, and stabilize the lives of ethnic minority people. Son La province strives to reduce the poverty rate in poor districts by 4-5% per year by 2025; have at least one district removed from the list of poor districts; reduce the number of poor and near-poor households in particularly difficult communes by 4-5% each year; and have 44% of communes in ethnic minority areas meet the new rural standards.
