Keeping in mind Uncle Ho's advice, Son La's artists and writers are always loyal, steadfast, united, and enthusiastic in working to create literature and art; contributing to preserving and promoting the quintessence of traditional culture, serving well the political tasks and literary and artistic life of the ethnic people and the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
After 45 years of construction and development, the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts (VHNT) has continuously developed and expanded, becoming a gathering place for artists of Son La. Currently, the association has more than 270 members, operating in 13 affiliated branches in many fields, such as: Literature, criticism theory, photography, fine arts, ethnic poetry and collecting, researching folk literature, performing arts... The team of artists always carries within them the passion to create good and unique literary and artistic works with messages full of humanity, inspiring to make life better.
Painter Le Chuong, Chairman of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, said: The Association's Standing Committee always focuses on doing a good job of political and ideological work for all members; especially implementing Directive No. 46-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat on preventing the infiltration of harmful cultural products that destroy social morality, in conjunction with promoting the "struggle against wrong views in literature and art".

Sticking to the assigned tasks, the association actively guides its members to create correct, accurate, and good literary and artistic works to serve the political tasks of the province and the people's need for enjoying literature and art. With the motto "taking the beauty, eliminating the ugliness", through literary and artistic works, it has vividly reflected all aspects of social life; fought against erroneous and hostile viewpoints; protected the ideological foundation of the Party. At the same time, it discovered and encouraged new factors, typical advanced models in all areas of life; propagated the results of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style, on the great national unity bloc and the close relationship between the Party, the State and the people.
The association effectively organizes activities to create artistic and journalistic works, especially the topic of "studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", emulation movements, and socio-economic development tasks in the locality. Since the beginning of the year, the association has organized 5 creative camps synthesizing literary and artistic specialties, with more than 300 works by members in various specialties. In addition to opening creative camps in the province, the association also organizes for artists to go on field trips to many provinces and regions in the country to study and exchange creative experiences.
With a passionate and creative working spirit, the team of artists of all ethnic groups has brought to the public quality and unique literary and artistic works of Son La, which are both topical and contain profound philosophies of life. These literary and artistic works have effectively contributed to preserving and popularizing the traditional cultural and artistic values of Son La ethnic groups; propagating and promoting the image of the people and land of Son La, rich in revolutionary traditions, history and culture, to a large number of readers inside and outside the province.

Ms. Luong My Hanh, a member of the Folk Arts Association, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, is known as a sharp writer with gentle, profound poems vividly depicting the land, culture and people of Son La. Recently, her short story "Afternoon Falling on the River" about brave police officers who are ready to sacrifice themselves in the fight against drugs in the Northwest region won the A prize at the Writing Contest and Music and Literature Composition Camp with the theme "Mobile Police - Steel Shield Protecting Peaceful Life" in 2024.
Ms. Hanh shared: Contemporary life requires artists to have a strong will, artists need to stick close to life, stick close to the country's innovation practices, harmoniously combine the spirit of artists - soldiers, the sense of dedication to the nation's literary and artistic career to create valuable literary and artistic works, effectively contributing to the construction and development of Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development.
Promoting the glorious mission of "a soldier on the ideological and cultural front", the Provincial Literature and Arts Association continues to "inspire" artists, clearly aware of the role and responsibility of Vietnamese revolutionary literature and art.
The team of artists continues to promote their sharp pens, with literary and artistic works that are convincing and highly attractive, contributing positively and effectively to protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints. That is also the way to make literature and art increasingly deeply rooted in life and become the spiritual foundation of society, the endogenous strength, the soft power in the cause of building, developing and protecting the homeland and country.
