(vov.vn) - The People's Committee of Son La province recently issued a decision recognizing a high-tech mango production area in Hat Lot town and Hat Lot and Chieng Mung communes, Mai Son district, including: Ngoc Lan Cooperative and 9 groups of households with a total of 612 households and individuals, with a total mango area of nearly 400 hectares participating in the regional linkage with Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company.
Mai Son district currently has 11,500 hectares of fruit trees. Of this, the area planted with mango trees is nearly 3,500 hectares, accounting for 30% of the total fruit tree area in the district. The mango variety grown in the area is mainly the Taiwanese mango variety (GL4); the area certified with VietGAP, GlobalGAP, organic and equivalent standards is over 314 hectares; the area granted planting area codes is over 500 hectares with 21 codes for markets in China, the US, Australia, and New Zealand.

Thanks to the application of advanced technology, many mango growing areas in Son La have achieved high yields and good quality.
Mai Son District has always focused on intensive farming, introducing new varieties and applying scientific advancements to mango production, forming concentrated raw material areas in the town and the communes of Hat Lot, Co Noi, and Chieng Mung to increase productivity and product quality, enhance competitiveness in the market, and meet the growing demands of consumers and exports. At the same time, it collaborates with Dong Giao Export Food Joint Stock Company (Doveco) to effectively implement planning, manage planning, and build specialized mango raw material areas along the value chain.
