The Party Committee and Command of the Son La Border Guard have led and directed agencies and units in the force to propagate and mobilize the people in the border areas of the province about the position and role of the border and border areas for the security, safety and peace and independence of the country; information on the world and regional situation and the plots, tricks and distorted arguments of hostile forces regarding the border areas and the relationship between Vietnam and neighboring countries. Colonel Ca Van Lap, Political Commissar of the Son La Border Guard, said: The Son La Border Guard Party Committee continues to direct the implementation of Conclusion No. 68-KL/TW dated February 5, 2020 of the Secretariat on the policy of increasing the number of Party Committee members who are border guard station officers participating in the Party Committees at the district and border commune levels; Instruction No. 2358/HD-CCT dated October 29, 2018 of the Border Guard Political Department on "Assigning Party members of border guard stations to be in charge of households in border areas". At the same time, strengthen the implementation of Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 9, 2015 of the Prime Minister on "Organizing the movement of the entire people participating in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation", building the great national unity bloc, consolidating the solid all-people border defense posture.

The provincial Border Guard has 5 comrades commanding border posts participating in the Party Committees of 5 border districts. The Provincial Border Guard Command has mobilized 17 cadres to reinforce 17 border communes, holding the position of deputy party secretary in charge of Party building work, consolidating the grassroots political system. Assigned 215 officers and professional soldiers to help 424 households and nearly 160 party members participate in activities at the Party cells of border villages. Border units also advise local authorities to maintain the activities of over 520 self-management groups on security and order in border areas, with nearly 3,900 members; 72 self-management groups on border lines and border markers, with over 4,200 households, creating a closed belt along the border, participating in firmly protecting the border areas of the province.

Party members assigned to the grassroots have advised local Party committees and authorities to strengthen the political system, especially selecting capable, enthusiastic and responsible village union cadres. At the same time, they have encouraged people not to migrate freely, not to enter and exit the country illegally; not to assist bad guys in trading, transporting and illegally storing drugs. They have promoted the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas"; the campaign "5 yes, 5 no" among Mong ethnic people. They have focused on building a cultural lifestyle, cultural families and villages, and eliminating bad customs and social evils.

Major Dang Van Dong, an employee of the Mass Mobilization Team, Chieng Son Border Guard Station, shared: In 2024, I was assigned to help Mr. Song A Xa's family, a poor household in Cot Moc village, Chieng Son commune, Moc Chau district. I often went to Mr. Xa's family to guide them in choosing suitable crops and livestock; how to care for and prevent diseases for livestock. Thanks to that, I have grasped the political security situation, social order and safety in the area, to advise the local Party Committee, government and unit commander to promptly resolve problems arising at the grassroots level.

Every year, at the time of Lunar New Year, Son La Border Guard organizes the program "Spring Border Guard warms the hearts of the villagers" in border communes, with many social security activities, associated with propaganda and mobilization work for people to participate in protecting border security. In 2024, Son La Border Guard organized a provincial-level program in the cluster of three communes of Chieng Son, Chieng Khua and Long Sap, Moc Chau district and 10 border posts in border communes, attracting a large number of people and agencies, units, and philanthropists. At the same time, it directed border posts to advise and coordinate the organization of "People's Border Guard Festival" in 17/17 border communes of the province, presenting 790 gifts to poor households and policy families, with a total value of over 900 million VND.

Currently, the project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school" is supporting 155 children in difficult circumstances in border areas, with a level of 600,000 VND/child/month of study (support for 9 months/school year). "Charity rice jars" at 10 border posts support 2,800 kg of rice/year for poor households... Units also actively participate in the national target program on new rural construction; sustainable poverty reduction. Participate in preventing and overcoming consequences of natural disasters, epidemics... Maintain models to help people eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, develop the economy and society; implement programs to support the construction of solidarity houses and comrade houses.

Propagating and mobilizing the masses to well implement the Party's policies and the State's laws, associated with social security activities, improving the lives of people in border areas, Son La Border Guard has built a solid people's border defense posture, a solid people's security posture, contributing to protecting national border security and sovereignty.
