Implementing the memorandum of understanding between the Association of War Veterans of Son La province and Association Luang Prabang Provincial Veterans Association, Lao PDR, on the morning of November 13, 2024, at the Son La Provincial Veterans Association, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Luang Prabang Provincial Veterans Association, Lao PDR and the Son La Provincial Veterans Association. The delegation of the Luang Prabang Provincial Veterans Association, Lao PDR, led by Lieutenant Colonel Xay Phon Khom A Lun - Member of the Executive Committee of the Lao National Veterans Association, Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association, visited and worked with the Son La Provincial Veterans Association from November 12 to 14, 2024.

Receiving and working with the delegation were comrade Mui Anh Tien, deputy head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs, comrade Hoang Manh Long, member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the Provincial Veterans Association, and comrades in the Standing Committee and Standing Committee of the Provincial Veterans Association.

At the meeting, the two sides informed each other about the socio-economic development, national defense and security of the two provinces; exchanged experiences in the work of building and operating the Association; hunger eradication and poverty reduction for members of the Veterans Association of the two provinces; coordinated propaganda work for officials and members on the solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States and the Veterans Association; exchanged information on searching for the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, frontline workers and Vietnamese military experts who died in Luang Prabang province.

During the visit and working period in Son La province, the delegation of the Luang Prabang Provincial Veterans Association offered flowers to President Ho Chi Minh at the Northwest Square; offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh at the Uncle Ho Temple; offered incense and flowers at the Memorial House for Heroes and Martyrs of Son La Prison; paid a courtesy visit to the Provincial Border Guard Command; visited the central market and VIMCOM Plaza supermarket in the city.

The delegation of the Veterans Association of Luang Prabang province acknowledged, highly appreciated and thanked the warm, respectful and thoughtful reception of the Veterans Association of Son La province; thanked the agencies, units, cadres, soldiers and people of Son La, the places the delegation visited for their good feelings towards the delegation. Affirming the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam; Son La - Luang Prabang and the solidarity and attachment between the two Association organizations are increasingly consolidated and developed.
