(nhandan.vn) - Weaving brocade is a long-standing traditional craft of the Thai ethnic group. Through many historical periods, the traditional weaving craft of the Thai people in Chieng Sang commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province, as well as in many other localities, is gradually disappearing.

The club has attracted the participation of students from the Thai ethnic group.
To preserve and promote the beautiful traditional culture of the Thai ethnic group, in 2021, Chieng Sang commune established the Thai Ethnic Culture Preservation Club. The club revives, preserves, and promotes the traditional brocade weaving craft, attracting many ethnic women and students to participate.

Weaving beautiful brocade fabrics requires many steps, demanding meticulous attention to detail from selecting and picking ripe cotton to spinning the yarn, dyeing, and skillfully embroidering patterns.

The club, once established, has attracted many women and mothers in the commune to participate.

Fluffing, twisting, rolling, spinning, and forming into bundles… these are the steps involved in creating traditional brocade fabrics.

From a young age, girls are taught by their grandmothers and mothers how to dye fabric, spin silk, embroider, and weave brocade... This is also one of the standards for evaluating a girl's skill and diligence before she gets married.
