In 2024, the two sides exchanged 12 pieces of news on political security; the Son La Provincial Border Guard Command directed the Muong Leo Border Guard Station to coordinate with the Phon Thong District Police, Luang Prabang Province (Laos) to arrest 1 case, 1 subject of drug crimes, seizing 2,158 synthetic drug pills, over 22 million Lao Kip.

The coordination in fighting cases has strengthened the trust of the people on both sides of the border with the authorities.
