(sonlatv.vn) - On the afternoon of November 25th, Mr. Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the 501 Steering Committee, chaired a meeting to prepare for the ceremony announcing the establishment of Moc Chau town and the arrangement and establishment of commune-level administrative units within Moc Chau town. Leaders from several provincial departments and agencies, as well as Moc Chau district, attended the meeting.
On November 14, 2024, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 1280 on the reorganization of district and commune-level administrative units in Son La province for the period 2023-2025. Accordingly, Moc Chau town was established based on the entire natural area of 1,072.09 km2 and a population of 148,259 people of Moc Chau district. Moc Chau town comprises 15 commune-level administrative units, including 8 wards and 7 communes.
At the meeting, the leaders of Moc Chau district reported on the preparations for the ceremony announcing the establishment of Moc Chau town, including: the overall program of the announcement ceremony; the script, artistic program, and fireworks display; funding, reception, and logistics; propaganda, urban beautification, and activities outside the framework of the announcement ceremony. Accordingly, the announcement ceremony is expected to take place at 8 PM on January 18, 2025, at 8/5 Square, Moc Chau town, followed by a low-altitude fireworks display to celebrate. Alongside the announcement ceremony, there will be the Vietnam Trail Marathon 2025 in Moc Chau district; booths showcasing OCOP agricultural products from Son La province; booths introducing culture and tourism; and presentations of unique tours and attractive destinations to serve the needs of delegates and tourists seeking to learn and experience.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Le Hong Minh requested that the departments, agencies, and the Provincial People's Committee Office coordinate with Moc Chau district to carry out the assigned tasks according to the plan, closely cooperate, and advise the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the announcement ceremony to ensure security, safety, solemnity, and economy. He also requested them to research and propose activities to attract investment in Moc Chau town, especially before and during the announcement ceremony; and to organize the introduction of unique tourist tours and attractive destinations to serve the needs of delegates and tourists for exploration and experience.
