(sonlatv.vn) - On the afternoon of November 25, comrade Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of Steering Committee 501 chaired a meeting to prepare the contents of the Ceremony to announce the establishment of Moc Chau town and arrange and establish commune-level administrative units in Moc Chau town. Attending the meeting were leaders of a number of departments and branches of the province and Moc Chau district.
On November 14, 2024, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 1280 on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in Son La province for the period 2023-2025. Accordingly, Moc Chau town was established on the basis of the entire natural area of 1,072.09 km2 and a population of 148,259 people of Moc Chau district. Regarding administrative units under Moc Chau town, there are 15 commune-level administrative units, including 8 wards and 7 communes.
At the meeting, the leaders of Moc Chau district reported on the preparation of contents related to the organization of the ceremony to announce the establishment of Moc Chau town, including: Overall program of the announcement ceremony; script, art program, fireworks program; budget, reception, logistics; propaganda, urban embellishment and activities outside the framework of the announcement ceremony. Accordingly, the announcement ceremony is expected to take place at 8:00 p.m. on January 18, 2025 at 8/5 Square, Moc Chau town, after the announcement ceremony there will be a low-altitude fireworks display to celebrate. On the sidelines of the announcement ceremony, the 2025 Vietnam Trail Marathon will take place in Moc Chau district; booths will display and introduce OCOP agricultural products of Son La province; booths introducing culture and tourism; organizing and introducing unique tours, attractive destinations to serve the needs of delegates and visitors to learn and experience.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Le Hong Minh requested the departments, branches, and the Provincial People's Committee Office to coordinate with Moc Chau district to carry out assigned tasks according to the assigned plan, closely coordinate, and advise the Provincial People's Committee to organize the announcement ceremony to ensure security, safety, solemnity, and economy. Research and propose investment attraction activities in Moc Chau town, especially before and during the announcement ceremony; organize the introduction of special tours and attractive destinations to serve the needs of delegates and tourists to learn and experience./.
