To commemorate the 49th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2024), Hai Phong and Son La organized many friendly exchange activities, strengthening the close bond between the Vietnamese and Lao people.

On November 30th, the Hai Phong City Union of Friendship Organizations, in coordination with the Hai Phong City Youth Union and the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Hai Phong City, organized a friendly exchange meeting to celebrate Laos' National Day between Lao students, Vietnamese students, representatives of former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos.
The program was attended by representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hai Phong City, the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee, the Hai Phong City Veterans Association, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Hai Phong City, various departments and agencies, and 70 other participants.Lao studentsVietnamese students are currently studying at universities in the city.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Do Van Binh, Chairman of the Hai Phong City Union of Friendship Organizations, extended his congratulations to Lao students studying at universities and colleges in the city on the occasion of Lao National Day.

According to Mr. Do Van Binh, Hai Phong city has close ties with many localities in Laos, including establishing friendly relations with Vientiane and Oudomxay provinces. Currently, there are 235 Lao students studying at universities in the city. He hopes that these Lao students will continue to unite, strive in their studies and training to improve their knowledge so that they can return to contribute to building Laos and preserving and promoting the good friendship that generations of leaders and people of the two countries have diligently cultivated.

On November 30th, Northwest University (Son La province) organized a program to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. Attending the program were leaders from several provincial departments and agencies, as well as Lao students studying at the university.

At the program, delegates and international students together reviewed the history of the heroic and tenacious struggle of the Lao people of various ethnic groups 49 years ago, which led to the establishment of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, as well as the close and special relationship between the two nations and peoples of Vietnam and Laos.
Currently, Northwest University has 359 Lao students studying at the university. The university always creates the best conditions for Lao students to study with peace of mind, constantly striving to improve themselves and accumulate knowledge to become outstanding citizens and high-quality human resources of Laos. The university also regularly organizes many cultural and sports activities, as well as cultural exchange events.

On this occasion, Northwest University awarded certificates of merit to 7 Lao students who achieved outstanding academic results in the 2023-2024 school year; the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Liaison Committee of Vietnamese Military Volunteers and Military Experts in Laos of Son La province presented gifts to Lao students studying at the university.

On the same day, Northwest University organized a tug-of-war competition to celebrate the 49th anniversary of Laos' National Day, with the participation of 9 teams and 90 athletes representing 9 provinces of Laos. The matches were exciting and captivating, attracting a large number of students to watch and cheer.
