(sonlatv.vn) - As the first cold winds of winter sweep across the Moc Chau plateau, the pristine white blossoms of off-season plum trees burst forth across the hillsides, attracting numerous tourists to visit, experience, and capture beautiful moments in this place.
Plum blossoms typically bloom from the end of January to the beginning of February each year. However, at this time, many plum orchards in the Na Ka plum valley have burst into white blossoms, offering a novel and delightful experience for tourists visiting Moc Chau for the first time.
Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huyen, a tourist from Hanoi:“This is my first time in Moc Chau, and I really enjoyed it. I found the climate in the plum orchard where I'm standing to be beautiful, and the people were friendly and sincere. I found the plum blossoms particularly beautiful because everyone told me they only bloom during Tet (Lunar New Year). But here I see both flowers and young fruit already. When I get back, I'll share my experience with you all, telling you to visit during this season because the weather isn't too sunny, and there's a beautiful fog.”
Not just for Tet (Lunar New Year), recognizing the preferences of tourists, many farmers in Moc Chau district this year have applied techniques to produce plums in staggered seasons, with early flowering and fruiting, extending the harvesting period. As a result, the plum blossoms are everywhere, from villages to fields, in a sea of white. The plum blossoms bloomed earlier and more abundantly than in previous years, so many tour operators have chosen to bring tourists to Moc Chau to visit and experience the off-season plum orchards.
Mr. Ha Van Cong, Song Tra Tour Company, Hoa Binh province:“Moc Chau has many beautiful scenic spots, especially the plum and persimmon orchards that bloom out of season. We hope to develop tours to Moc Chau in the future. Through this, we also hope to promote the image of Moc Chau to all domestic and international tourists.”
Moc Chau district currently has over 3,200 hectares of late-season plums. With the dual goal of developing agriculture in conjunction with tourism, the district has encouraged businesses, establishments, and households to exploit the potential and build tourism models offering experiences such as plum picking and plum blossom photography. This contributes to generating income for families and promoting the natural beauty and late-season plum products of Moc Chau to tourists from within and outside the province.
Mrs. Tran Thi Huong, Cho Long sub-district, Moc Chau Plantation Town, Son La:"My plum orchard has been around for 15 years, but in previous years, we only harvested during the main season. We wanted to plant it to have a double harvest, both off-season and during the main season, to expand our economy. In addition, the plum blossoms would bloom early, allowing people to come and take photos and experience Moc Chau."
The early blooming of plum blossoms not only creates an attractive destination for tourists to visit and experience, but also carries the hopes of farmers for a bountiful harvest and good prices for off-season plums.
