At the conference, delegates were informed of Resolution No. 1280/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated November 14, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Son La province for the period 2023-2025 (Resolution No. 1280); Conclusion No. 1252-KL/TU dated November 23, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on leadership and direction of the implementation of Resolution No. 1280; Decision No. 2557/QD-UBND dated November 29, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on promulgating the plan to implement Resolution No. 1280 of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Accordingly, implementing documents of competent authorities on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in the period of 2023-2025; Son La province has 3 commune-level administrative units subject to arrangement (towns of Thuan Chau, Yen Chau, Phu Yen districts); at the same time, upgrading, expanding, and establishing urban administrative units to create momentum for socio-economic development and facilitate state management work in the locality, including: Establishing Moc Chau town on the basis of the original status of Moc Chau district and arranging and establishing commune-level administrative units in Moc Chau town; arranging and adjusting administrative boundaries to expand Song Ma town, Song Ma district; establishing a town of Quynh Nhai district on the basis of the original status of Muong Giang commune, Quynh Nhai district. According to Resolution No. 1280 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Son La province has 12 district-level administrative units, including: 10 districts, 1 town and 1 city; 200 commune-level administrative units, including: 177 communes, 15 wards and 8 towns.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Le Hong Minh emphasized: Relevant departments, branches, sectors and districts focus on propaganda to create consensus and unity of awareness in society, at all levels, sectors, among cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, union members, association members and people about Resolution No. 1280/NQ-UBTVQH15, Conclusion No. 1252-KL/TU of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and documents of competent authorities. Perfecting the organizational structure, arranging the cadres, civil servants and public employees to ensure that agencies and organizations in the new administrative units must come into operation from February 1, 2025. The successful implementation of the above tasks will be an important premise for organizing party congresses at all levels towards the 16th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030 and implementing the organizational arrangement in accordance with the direction at the National Conference to disseminate and summarize the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee.
