The oranges here are colloquially known as "belly-nosed oranges," "seedless oranges," or simply "oranges with protruding navels."Navel orangeIt's called Navel because the bottom of the orange has a secondary fruit that protrudes like a navel. To date, Navel oranges are propagated by grafting.
The Ly orange orchard of Mr. Ha Van Chien's family in Sub-district 68, Moc Chau Agricultural Town, is cultivated according to VietGAP standards. Mr. Chien shared: "My family started experimenting with this Ly orange variety in 2011. Currently, the orchard has 350 trees producing fruit, covering an area of 4,000 square meters. Last year, my family harvested 15 tons, with an average price of about 70,000 VND/kg. This year, we expect to harvest about 18 tons."

Recognizing the potential of experiential tourism, in 2022 Mr. Chien combined it with organizing tours to visit orange orchards.

Finally, the fruits of their labor are beautifully packaged and brought home as gifts for family and friends. In addition, processed orange products such as orange jam and orange wine are also popular choices for gifts. Another interesting fact is that women absolutely love these oranges because they're so convenient to make juice; you don't have to remove the seeds like with other types of oranges, you just press and squeeze them – incredibly convenient.

The lychee orchard is open from 6 am to 6 pm every day of the week, with an entrance fee of 40,000 VND per person. Visitors can rent traditional clothing.

Moc Chau ly oranges begin to ripen from November to the end of January of the following year. The ripe, golden oranges interspersed with the green of the leaves create a unique and peaceful atmosphere. Not only are they intensely sweet with a distinctive aroma, but Moc Chau ly oranges are also grown organically, using fish protein and microbial fertilizers, ensuring safety and health for consumers.
To create a sustainable link between tourism and agricultural experiences, the Northwest Specialty Cooperative has partnered with orange growers in Moc Chau district to develop the "My Orange Tree" project.
