(nhandan.vn) - If Ta So village, located at an altitude of over 1,100m in Chieng Hac commune, is considered the plateau of Moc Chau plateau in Son La province, then Tau Cave is the valley on the Ta So plateau. Tau Cave is becoming a tourist attraction, especially for young people, to experience the "three no's" life with the local people: no electricity, no phone signal, and no Wi-Fi.

Under the blue sky, the "primitive" village is breathtakingly beautiful.
Before receiving assistance from the Moc Chau District Police in drilling wells, the local people only had one water source, piped down from the mountains. Perhaps for these reasons,Hang TauThey are known as "primitive villages" on the plateau.
Hang Tau, which in the local language means "open land" or "basin," is located about 20km from the center of Moc Chau town. The journey from Ta So intersection to Hang Tau is a scenic and relaxing experience before visitors "infiltrate" the pristine village.

Hang Tau is peaceful from every angle.

The road, just over 3km long, is a challenge for even the most skilled motorcyclists due to its steepness and treacherous terrain. The slopes are incredibly steep, ascending steeply and descending deep. The sides of the road are eroded, exposing jagged rocks, with a rough, uneven ridge in the middle, barely wide enough for a motorcycle wheel to roll.

An unwritten rule is that when two vehicles are going in opposite directions, the right of way goes to the vehicle carrying passengers, or the vehicle carrying passengers that is going uphill. If you're not confident driving, a piece of advice for tourists is to leave your vehicle in a parking lot and feel safe riding behind the wheel with a local man who has excellent skills and experience in driving a motorbike.

The local guys are really excellent drivers.
But in return, this is a breathtaking route, especially in spring, with its rich natural scenery: mountains on one side, green fields on the other, winding through valleys of white plum blossoms and yellow mustard flowers, like vibrant splashes of color against a vast green backdrop. The ancient village of Hang Tau, nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains, is the long-standing home of more than 20 Hmong families. Leaving behind the majestic landscape of the Northwest mountains and forests, stepping through the village gate, visitors feel as if they have entered a strangely peaceful place, almost isolated from the outside world.

Small, peaceful houses nestled on the mountainside.
Dozens of houses nestle quietly on the mountainside, surrounding a valley spanning over 1 hectare. Hmong children, dressed in colorful traditional clothing, their cheeks rosy, playfully frolic on the grass under the dry sun, unafraid of the kind inquiries from tourists. Pigs, chickens, goats, and cows leisurely roam around the undulating rocks. When the weather is favorable, visitors can admire and capture stunning images of the landscape, which resembles a scene from a film, with the earth and sky blending seamlessly.
Previously, when this place was not widely known, the lives of the local residents were quiet, with little interaction with the outside world, and mainly self-sufficient. At the end of the village, there is a path leading to a natural cave, but because there is no electricity, the cave has not been developed for tourism; visitors can only take photos from the outside of the cave's arch.

Since 2020, with the policy of developing the Ta So community tourism village by the Moc Chau District People's Committee, supported by the Great Phase 1 project, the Hang Tau area has become more widely known. The number of visitors to Hang Tau has increased, leading to the development of several services to meet the needs of tourists. Local villagers are guided to participate in tourism activities such as renting traditional costumes, renting horses, selling souvenirs, and local specialties.

Locals participate in tourism services, both promoting the image of the people here and increasing their income.
What is particularly noteworthy is that, despite tourism bringing visitors to this place, Hang Tau has maintained a nearly "pristine" environment, with very little tourist litter left in the valley. A restaurant serving tourists is located at the end of this area, perhaps also to minimize negative impacts on the environment. This is something that needs attention from the local authorities, supervision from tourism management and exploitation units, and the responsibility and awareness of each visitor when coming to this peaceful place. This will ensure that Hang Tau remains an attractive destination for tourists, preserving its "pristine" character that has been maintained for generations.

Hang Tau has become a popular tourist destination attracting visitors to explore and experience its unique charm...

...and capture those beautiful moments.
