On December 10, Thuan Chau district held a conference to disseminate and implement Resolution No. 1280/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated November 14, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Son La province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Implementing the Resolution on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Thuan Chau district, adjusting part of the natural area and population size of Chieng Ly commune and part of the natural area and population size of Phong Lang commune to merge into Thuan Chau town; Establishing Phong Ly commune on the basis of merging part of the natural area and population size of Chieng Bom commune, the entire natural area and population size of Chieng Ly commune and the entire natural area and population size of Phong Lang commune after adjustment. After the arrangement, Thuan Chau district has 28 commune-level administrative units, including 27 communes and 01 town.

In order to promptly and effectively implement the tasks, Thuan Chau district has determined to focus on promoting information and propaganda work so that all classes of people understand and agree to implement the Resolution; arrange the organization, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers, resolve redundant regimes and policies; arrange the organization and operation of villages, hamlets, and sub-regions; arrange and handle headquarters and public assets after the arrangement of commune-level administrative units; implement specific regimes and policies for commune-level administrative units formed after the arrangement; assign the number of cadres, civil servants, and non-professional workers at the commune level; establish new, edit, records, and maps of administrative unit boundaries at all levels; organize the implementation of editing cadastral records...
