Focusing on building and promulgating action programs, projects, resolutions, conclusions and establishing steering committees, working groups, and allocating resources for implementation.

Son La province's economy maintained growth, economic scale was expanded, investment and business environment was improved; application of science and technology in production was promoted, especially the development of high-tech agriculture. The policy of planting fruit trees on sloping land to replace ineffective short-term food crops was implemented synchronously, contributing to exploiting the potential and advantages of the province; forming fruit growing areas, concentrated agricultural raw material areas associated with processing industry and domestic and export markets. National defense and security were ensured, social order and safety were stable, national border sovereignty was maintained; foreign affairs activities were consolidated, enhanced and expanded. Party building and consolidation of the political system were given attention and achieved important results, creating a solid foundation for Son La province to continue developing in the next period.
