Officials in Bon Phặng commune, Thuận Châu district (Sơn La province) are encouraging people to build sturdy barns and keep livestock in enclosed pens.Over the two years (2022-2023), communes allocated 3.2 billion VND to support housing for 120 poor households under Program 1719 and to help more than 320 poor households lacking land for production transition. In 2024, the district will continue to allocate funds to support vocational transition for 858 poor households lacking land for production in the area.

At the same time, it has promoted livelihood support, developed production along the value chain, and invested in essential infrastructure to serve the production and lives of the people.
"Resources from ethnic minority programs and policies have had a strong impact, helping poor, near-poor, and newly-escaped-from-poverty households in the locality to develop economically and alleviate poverty," affirmed Mr. Thào A Súa, Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Co Mạ commune, Thuận Châu district.

Thanks to the support funds, people have boosted production, increased income, improved their quality of life, and contributed to reducing the poverty rate among ethnic minority households in Thuan Chau district.
Mr. Ha Trung Thang, a member of the District Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Thuan Chau District People's Committee, said: "In recent years, the locality has been very decisive in implementing ethnic policies to strengthen poverty reduction for ethnic minority communities, including promoting the implementation of projects and sub-projects from national target programs to support ethnic minority people in achieving sustainable poverty alleviation."
“The locality is determined to disburse 100% of the capital for 2022-23 and 2024, and is striving to achieve 100% disbursement for the 2025 budget. In the coming time, the district will direct and urge agencies, units, and localities to allocate and disburse funds for project implementation. For some sub-projects and projects with slow disbursement progress, we will find ways to resolve the issues to accelerate implementation,” said Mr. Ha Trung Thang, Member of the District Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee.
